UPS RANT!...Help me!

Ok first off this is in no way a bash to the user I bought the wheels from because they were in pristine condition while in his possession. He had them shipped via UPS(u people suck) and they got damaged during shipping. Not only did the powder coating get chip but the metal itself did. I put in a claim with them, stating that it will cost roughly 300-400$ to repair. So they told me a rep will call me tomorrow and have to come out and inspect the damage, and decided if it will be covered by them or not. I already feel and assume they will beat around the bush and not covered said expense. At that point my only option is to mount the wheels as is or get the powder coat fixed. So my questions are if I dont get it fixed will it keep peeling and get worse? Or if I do get it fixed, how much does powder coating usually cost? UPS

If the wheels were insured when shipped, then you shouldnt have any trouble. If not, then they will probably try to avoid paying for this. It sucks that they dont take better care of packages.

Thats what im hoping for..im talking to the member I bought them from to see if he did. If not you think UPS would still insure their own work.

Once they see the wheel in person, they might still cover it. It clearly was damaged during shipping.

Clearly..but you can assume how they will act haha..but yeah the boxes were beat to s***. And there was even bubble wrap inside!

Maybe I'm slow, but it seems like it would be difficult to prove that damage happened during shipping. Really sucks that it happened - I'd be bummed and pissed too. Good luck getting it corrected.

This is my fear.. like its my word against theirs kind of thing. I know im telling the truth but they dont...ughhh

Yeah he felt so bad..but it wasnt his fault, he even bubble wrapped them! He knows whats going on and offered to help if he can. But their customer service is garbage. They were at first going to pick them up to take them to be inspected. I said no, someone needs to come here..whos to say your not going to damage them more while shipping again!

damn wtf were they doing with it, playing hot potato and drop it down a cliff? i dont see how that can happen...

and I dont think powdercoat can be blended? but I dont know much about it..maybe the spot can get repowdered/baked and **** and they can sand it to blend it? not sure...but I dont think that little spot would cost you much, but it might not be worth it for the company if you know what I mean?

but to get my valve covers p.c. I got quoated 100 bucks, to give you a idea.

Evidently it was a childs toy to them...ugh! I may just bite the bullet on this one and mount them. Im sure if I take it off road Ill chip it up worse! But still I didnt do this damage!! Other than this the wheels look awesome!

JJ bought used rims with chips and defects. I think he just painted over the spots.

Like touch up spray paint..or re-powder coated?? Or do you know lol
