I have a 2019 RAM 1500 (50k miles) that is using 1.25 qt./1000 miles and puffs smoke when I start it. The dealer (Fury Motors, Stillwater, MN) told me it was the PCV valve and said that I would have to pay $903.00 to have it replaced. I told them that I didn't think that was the problem because I had a catch can on it and the oil loss would have shown up there, but has not. The service manager told me that I first needed to start a case through customer service to get the discussion started. I did that and now the dealer is telling me that the Stellantis rep. is not calling him back.

Does anyone know how I can get a hold of anyone that handles warranty issues? or do they just ignore you and hope you go away?

What extended warrenty do you have,is it a Mopar extended warrenty or an aftermarket warrenty company. You're well past the standard factory warrenty as your truck is basically 7 years old, even if it only has 50,000 miles on it

It was still under the factory powertrain warranty. I bought the truck in 2020, the warranty is 5 years/60,000miles

What month in 2020,as there's not many months left in 2025 for it to barely scrape in under the factory warrenty. I'm guessing it's been burning oil for a bit, kind of curious why you left it to the very last minute.
Also get that catch can off it,as they'll use that against you to deny a warrenty claim, even though it's a bogus reason to deny a warrenty claim, but they will use it against you.

Sir , you have a modified vehicle.
Due to the modifications your warranty is no longer valid.
Dealers will try to get out of honering warranty work , which does not pay as much as a non-warranty job.

What was the purchase date ? Just saying if you bought it early in the year .

Purchased the truck in June. They did the oil consumption test in May (failed), so that opened the warranty case. I have had it in at least a half dozen times for various recalls and oddly they never saw it smoke on start-up.
The catch can was recommended by their tech. But true, on every issue that I have brought up to them, all I have heard is excuses.

Their Tech was the one that recommended trying the catch can...

Doesn't matter who reconmended the catch can,as far as Ma Mopar is concerned it's a modified vehicle.Personally i think you're SOL on warrenty as you were only a month away from being out of warrenty when they did the oil consumption test, you should of been yelling about it using oil a year ago.If you've had issues with this dealership before, why didn't you take it to another dealership.
If they warrenty the engine now,i'd be very surprised, but good luck

$903 to change the PCV? The hardest part of changing the PCV is getting the beauty cover back on in one attempt.

Somethings wrong here.

100%...It took me 3 minutes and 6 seconds to do!

They did this because the PCV is not covered under the powertrain warranty, so I would have to pay $903.00 and then have to try to get my money back when it didn't fix the problem. And the sad thing is, twice at Fury Motors (Stillwater, MN), they were ready to send me home stating the oil level was correct, only to have me check it and see that it was still low!

I think i already posted on your other thread, but dig out a 5/16's socket and ratchet and check your intake manifold bolts,if they're loose,it could be sucking oil past the o-ring gaskets that surround the pcv and oil fill holes. If your manifold is really loose ,i'd try snugging it down, and see if there's any change in oil usage or your engines smoking factor

Why not change the pcv valve, it's not that difficult on a 1500. Did the dealer do that?
I would have had to pay the dealer (Fury Motors, Stillwater, MN) $903.00 for them to change the PCV.
The service manager told me that I needed to start a "Case". I did that, and now can't get any support.

Yes, I did change it and it did not fix the problem.

You can see my previous posts, but Stellantis has outsourced all of their warranty authorization work to India. They, along with RamCares, are largely useless. The only thing that finally got my issue resolved was an email to the CEO and his assistant.

This is the contact info for his current executive assistant:

Nick Cappa
Office: (248) 512-4266
Cell: (248) 202-8039
[email protected]

[email protected] for Tim, but be sure to include both.

I went from:
Service advisor
Service manager
Ramcares (multiple times from here on)
General manager
Dealership owner
Cappa/Kuniskis email

Which put me in touch with Vanessa in Executive Customer Service who finally got it resolved.

Thanks, I will check them tomorrow. The dealer did tell me that they "partially removed the intake", I asked for clarification on that, but they couldn't.
