So I picked me some LED taillights of another forum for pretty cheap and got them thrown on today. These things look awesome! They are also insanely bright, it ill teach people to stay off my ass, cause they will be blinded if they get to close

These are only cell phone pics, I have a LED 3rd brake light on the way, I will get better pictures when they all are installed.

I'm thinking about it, it depends on what it looks like when my LED 3rd brakelight comes in the mail next week. If I do, it will be really light, maybe one coat.

Ugh! I wish someone made a good lookin get for the Gen4s. I really dislike all the little reflectors n crap they put all over em.

Just stock housings with an LED array. Is that so much to ask for?!?

So I decided that the noise from the rearend issue was the u-joints in the driveshaft (I hope), so tonight, I pulled her out to take it to get new joints pressed in, cleaned, and rebalanced tomorrow morning.

I ended up breaking the 2 bolts that hold the center support ring near the carrier bearing, so I will be making an extra trip to Ace tomorrow as well to get replacements

Also took this picture which I thought was cool, because it has mine, my buddies, and the Chevy body all together

Well, u-joints are changed. Sounds and feels much better....

BUT....

As we were putting the driveshaft back in (which seemed REALLY easy btw), we must have nicked an internal seal or something on the output shaft of the transfer case, because now I am leaking hydraulic fluid out of the transfer case right at the dust shield to the rear spline...

Time to do me some research and do it right this time...

So after the truck sitting here for a couple days waiting to be fixed while I took my finals, the transfer case is now fixed (I hope).
The driveshaft had to come back out, so I figured it could use a nice new coat of paint
Before
IMG_2548.jpg
After
IMG_2549.jpg
Then once the shaft was out, I had to drain the transfer case and then attempt to take the leaking seal out...
IMG_2550.jpg
I broke the dust shield out, but the actual seal would not come out, so I ended up taking the entire rear output shaft housing off and taking it to get pressed out.

IMG_2554.jpg

Once it was out, the reassembly went really well.
Pressed the new seal in
IMG_20120604_125838.jpg
Put the housing back on the transfer case and filled it back full of Amsoil ATF
IMG_2556.jpg
And then lastly put the driveshaft back on once again.

Let's just hope it stays sealed this time around
