There are other brands just as good...Viair has been around forever though so I always stick with them. I've had several of their compressors and never had any issues with them.
With a 480C and a 5 gallon tank mounted somewhere you can handle just about and roadside issue that required air with no problem. I have a 150psi switch on mine...that'll air up a tire in a damn hurry.

Had twin Vlair compressors in my xB when I had it bagged and had problems with them blowing fuses and destroying relays all the time. had all the wires upgraded to the next size up from what they recommended, and the wires never got hot, but still couldn't figure it out. That was the only problems I had with them.

Were they sized right for the size tank you were filling?

3-5 gallon tank. Mainly airing up tires or blowing out a air filter. Plus I've always wanted one.

It was a complete bolt on kit that they came in. Everything was included except for the wires to go to the battery. I think it called for like 14g and I went with 12g or called for 12g and I went with 10g. not sure, was almost 2 years ago now. Car long gone.

Known quite a few Jeep people with them as well. They are a good solid unit.
Provided you keep it clean and plenty of power flow, you should have zero issue with it.

Tank mounts up well under the back left corner of the bed. Provided you don't have the sido exhaust of course.
