So a friend's 2007 RAM with the VIN 3d7ks19d77g831666 says it's a 1500 but it's quite obviously a 2500 mega cab. The rearend has a 10.5 and the front is a 9.25. Does this sound correct? We're trying to find more information about the truck so that we can re-gear to 4.10 but I want to make sure that he orders the correct parts.

It very well could be a 1500, it was built on the same chassis(8 lug wheels an all) as the 2500/3500 MegaCab trucks but has a lighter payload/GAWR than it's heavyweight counterparts

That's because it is lol.



The 1500/2500 refers to it's capability, not necessarily onboard equipment. With the 3rd gen MegaCab, hemi gets you a 1500, Cummins gets you a 2500.

That's what I pulled up, but the drive train looks like a 2500 so we were uncertain exactly what to order.
