I've been looking for CAI for a long time, but never really want to spend the money on one. I was going to get an S&B after looking through all the posts since it seemed like they had the best reviews. But I was looking through Craigslist last week and found a Volant with the Powercore filter for only $150! I installed it today and it was incredibly easy. I can't review the performance yet, but there's no noticeable sound from the intake (FYI).

Yes... The engine bay needs to be cleaned!

If I was ever to be brainwashed and purchase a CAI the Volant would be my first choice.
The Power Core filter is second to none! Clean Cold air is very important!

Congrats. Volant makes some good stuff and I've used two of their kits on other vehicle.

After researching, I found that the stock intake is pretty efficient and thats why I was hesitant to buy one. Before installing this, I used a K&N filter. I just couldn't pass it up for only $150.

The only real issue I have with stock intakes is the inlet tube. They usually have all those kinks, sharp bends and attenuation chambers on them. The smoother the better, IMHO.

The tube to the filter box from the fender inlet on yours is nice and smooth, as is the tube from the box to the throttle body.

I suspect it flows better than the stock setup.

For that price, you can't beat it. The Donaldson Powercore filter will serve you well
