Who else has had one and how bad do you want another one. Had one two years ago and really wanting one again. Don't know if I need help being talked out out if of one or a story for the wife why it's in the car port.

My very first car wreck was in a '79 Wagoneer. It was also my first "car date".

That looks to be very nice for the age/price.

DO IT.

I gotta question the engine though, the Chrysler 360 was a rear dizzy engine, not a front dizzy engine.

You're right. This is because the one in the Waggy is an AMC 360.

That was what I was thinking, but I didn't know what the external differences were. But it makes sense. Didn't remember when Chrysler was really taking over the Jeep brand.

I sent the link to my dad simply for the LOLs, he thought it was humorous.

AMC engines were like BOP's, externally it was pretty much the same size engine, just cyl head and internally they were different. AMC had 292, 304, 360, 390 and 401 V8's. Distributor smack dab up front like a Ford small block.

I love the front mount dizzys. So much damn easier to work on.

At least it's straight up, always cracked me up on all my big block Mopars, that tilted distributor up front. Even 1st gen 50's hemis had that bugger in the back.

Yeeah, the tilted dizzy is slightly annoying, but it's still easier than a 318/360, where the dizzy is shoved under the cowl....

Neither did my dad on his Fury. But the 2nd and 3rd gen Rams were really bad about having to change the cap and rotor. You leave it until you need to replace the plenum, then do it again when the engine runs like crap. lol

Anyone know if OP has bought that Wagoneer yet?

LOL well no ****, those things are huge. I had a 440 in my Monaco and had room to get to stuff. It weighed 4700lbs...only 600lbs less than my truck :mfr_omg:

I think it has something to do with aerodynamics? :D

I know with the Dodge D/W series trucks it was the same way, you could get to everything.
