Weird noises

So i have a tricky one. When moderately braking, coming to a stop, I hear what sounds like a quick belt squeak. Kinda like some of the Cummins did when shutting them down.

It only happens when braking coming to a stop.
Doesn't seem to be tied to a downshift.
No idle squeaks, no hard shift squeaks, no constant noise.
I do have aftermarket airbags on the rear end, but i would expect them to make noise with suspension movement.

Am i over elaborating the fact that i need a new serpentine belt? (79k miles, owned since 53k)

Or do i need to have someone drive the truck in an empty lot, hang out in the bed and pinpoint more?

I suspect i am due for brakes. I'll pull the tires this weekend after Hurricane cleanup.

Sounds like the brake pad sensor. A metal piece used to cause a squeak when it contacts rotor as when pad is worn thin...

Yeah i could see that, but its just a short squeak, not a constant thing. Maybe a second and its gone. Will look into it weather permitting this weekend.

That 'wear indicator' will quiet down the faster you go. If it was installed right, you'll have a bit of time before needing to replace brakes. I'd not wait to long though.

I don't get any kick back $$, but I'm a huge fan of EBC pads. To include, PowerStop rotors. Check them out, buy what you can afford. I've used them for over 20yrs.

Always replace in pairs, front pads wear twice as often as rear. Good maintenance, ck all four brakes - getting an idea to the wear. I'd suggest having your rotors turned too. Certain auto parts stores can do this. Ensure they know how to 'mic' (measure) check the rotors. I've had to teach a few parts peeps on using a micrometer.

Then look up proper break in for brakes and rotors. The break in, doesn't matter the brand it's the same procedure. This is an extremely important procedure.
