Did the fuel filters for the 75k(74640) service. I have access to the auto hobby shop on base and made doing the rear a breeze. The front SUCKED! Can't get to the drain spout from the bottom to hook up the longer hose (factory is abut 6"). So lower the lift and hook the hose up to the and fed it through to the underside. SO I THOUGHT. Had to raise it up to look for the end. DAMN! left the light under the hood, bring it back down. Raise it back up and find the end to feed it through to the underside. Now can't get to the valve to get it to start draining, so down it comes. Crawled underneath to put a drain pan. Got it all drained, new filter, new O-ring. Got it all buttoned up and cleanup time. I have a small tool box for all the oil/fuel filter wrenches, screwdrivers, ratchet, extensions, swivel and a rag. Oh yeah, the 28mm socket to take the front fuel filter canister top off. Well, putting the tools up, the 28mm socket is nowhere to be found. Climb into the the engine bay no sight. Raise the truck back up to look on frame and other places, Nope it's hidden well. Ordered 2 more. This time going to have someone weld the sucker to extension and paint it orange.
Two oils changes ago I let the mileage go to the 15k as recommended in the OM. Never again, it was really nasty. That took it to 65K. When I was scanning my receipts, I noticed that the ram is ready for the 10k change. So I know what I will be doing next weekend.
I cleaned the country mud off and noticed the leading edge of the hood is chipped up like a SOB. So $25 for touchup paint and ordered a AVS aeroskin II hood shield.
