Well, here you go. The final result of swapping a 2500 hood and front grill onto a 1500.

I think its a keeper :waytogo:

My previous grill has horizontal chrome slats, whereas this one is black honeycomb. I do have access to horizontal slats from a 2500 as well, and likey will change that out, but for now just let be.

In the future I'd like to make the vents on the top of the hood actually functional, but that'll be another weekend.

I like that there is more space in the engine bay for future ideas I have as well :evillol:.

Thank you sir, I'm on call for a few more days before I get to drive it again but I am looking forward to em. For brake lines I've been eyeing the kimper performance ones, probably do +3" just to be on the safe side since I'm pretty sure you need to start at the hardline and flare em. Yes I do have the 30" shocks but I wouldn't let them droop out that far, The coils themselves begin to unseat at roughly the 29 3/4" mark. But at 29" is when things start to look uneasy to me, mainly the pinion angle in relation to the drive shaft, I'm not savy enough to start tweaking on the control arms to set the maximum allowable angle which I have no clue about.

Good to know. My new shocks are supposed to be 29.3" on paper so i'm thinking they'll be 29" even.

Wired up a set of red Alpena strip lights ($30) under the Vararam.
Used spade connectors so I can remove the intake if necessary without disturbing the wiring.

It has the 3.2l V6 and Active Drive 1. We had it through the state forest yesterday. Wow, is it a much smoother ride than the ole RAM 2500.

it has 500xx on it now. We put about 1000 miles on it already.

We are back in the state forest today...checking out the dispersed/motorized campsites.

It does quite well off road.

My girlfriend has the '19 Cherokee Overland, and it has all the bells and whistles. Same engine as yours. I've been thoroughly impressed with the vehicle. I was a bit weary going with the 3.2L since it was brand new, but common sense says as long as you take care of it you'll be fine. Definitely a night and day difference from my old '01 1500 and the '14 I have now :roflsquared:

i finally got off my duff and started to get my aux lighting project underway. I put the light bar in the bumper, the grille lights in, well, the grille, and the backward facing lights under the rear bumper. I have interior mood lighting left to place, and demon eyes in the hood scoops, then all the lights are placed. Next up wiring. That should be fun..... kinda.

Installed mevotech UCAs and redid my maxtrac/fox 2.5” level install as the bottom of the springs were not fully seated in the isolator. Bought new internal spring compressors and pried them in with a flathead to get them to sit right. Was a battle for sure.

Pulled my 18' flatbed with my buddies 2018 Ford F250 on it to the mechanic. He has 71,000 on it and the engine overheated severely and pretty much fried the tranny as well. To have me, with my RAM, deliver him to the mechanic was a major slap in the face for him since he is a diehard FORD man and despises anything Dodge/Chrysler.

How much heavier is the HD bumper? Enough to throw off the entire balance of the truck?

I don’t think it’s “posing” and most wouldn’t think that unless you did something like slap 2500 Cummins badges on it. Then you’d be crossing that line.

But honestly I think front end swaps are cool as hell and doesn’t mean you think your truck is something that it isn’t lol.

Either way I’m very interested to see how it looks with the taller hood/grill combo while keeping the current bumper. Hope it doesn’t turn out with the silhouette of this:

Don't know have exact numbers other than a "WAG". The hood for example is close to twice the weight of my previous hood to give an idea. Which brings up a recommendation for anyone venturing into the same mod..... get the hood struts for the 2500. 1500's won't cut it.
