Slid into a curb destroying my rim and tire had to swere out of the way to avoid a accident stupid NY/NJ drivers. At least i have a spare rim on my parts truck that matches if the insurance company takes to long.
An insurance claim for a single rim and tire ?

I wouldn't even blow through my deductible for that

Its their insurance not mine I dont have full coverage glad I had my dash cam to prove they caused it. I am sure they will try to pull some bs **** tho On paper a re refurbished rim $400 tire $200 plus alignmnent $150. I did try to get the person to pay out of pocket but they want to use their insurance and still kind of deny they caused it they pulled out in front of me causing me to go left hitting a curb.

Replaced AC hoses and the high side line.

AC is running very cold again. Sensor port, low fill valve and high fill valve had very small leaks.

Note. If you use R134A and you order the line from Rock Auto, the high side valve is not R134A high side valve. Get a new adapter for your manifold guage set to fit. Still more cost effective than ordering the line from mopar.

Do you think one of those recharge kits would have sealed your leaks?

No i tried a stop leak freon can first.

The leaks in the Schrader style valves were unaffected. Take off the caps and hear air release. The o ring on the sensor seal was hard and mildly cracked. Evidence of a leak with a UV light. It would hold freon for about a month, and be cold for about three weeks.

I knew about the problem last fall. Orderd all the parts a couple months ago. Finally got around to fixing it in the cool down today. It took less than an hour to change all three hoses/lines. Rented a vacuum pump for a few hours. Charged it when I confirmed all was good.

So I searched the forum for a thread like this and didn't find anything. I figured it would be fun to have a thread that everyone can watch what everyone is doing each week.

This week I put on Steelcraft nerf bars, and right now I'm getting the permaplating put on the truck. This way it gets a real good bath.
I had another senior moment Friday, came out of a store & saw my truck in the back of the lot, always park away from others, thought “ man my truck is looking like a beast out there but looks cleaner than I remember”.
I got a little father then realized a 20’ classic with a 6” lift & 37’s was parked next to me, the owner came out while I was loading groceries.
We both had a laugh when I talked to him, friendly guy, seems like all Ram owners I speak to are.

Had the rear window replaced. Was getting a couple yards of mulch and the skid steer operator tagged the window. Shattered into 1000’s of tiny pieces. Would have assumed it was tempered glass? They paid for replacement and will comp me a couple more yards for my troubles. $200 for the window, $100 labor.

Had the evaporator coil replaced. It was leaking, but once they got it out I could see it was also filthy. Added a cabin air filter to hopefully prevent it from happening again on the new one. View attachment 568625

Wasn’t cheap was it? Had the same thing done last summer although it doesn't look quite as bad as yours does, but still bad. I used two cans of Kool it foaming cleaner trying to get it clean before having it replace. Not sure if the clean area is a result or not. Had to install a cabin filter as well. Went with K&N washable this spring. Seems to allow slightly better air flow than others I've tried.

Yours looks like it was smashed or maybe damaged during removal?? How much did it cost?

Mine looked similar.when I redid the AC system. Did it all myself for the cost of the parts.

Also gives you a chance to clean up the smelly dirt behind the dash. Mine was a smoker truck before I bought it. Took a lot of the smoke smell away. Edit: the molded firewall board is black. Lots of dust and grime to make it tan.

It was not cheap at all, I paid $1,900. I would have attempted it myself if I had a second vehicle but I don't and didn't want to risk not being able to get to work.

Regarding being smashed, it does look like a few of the fins are bent. Not sure what that is about.

I was pretty shocked by the amount of dirt and hair stuck on the evap coil. Definitely see the need for a cabin air filter on all vehicles going forward. The AC blows much harder now without all that crap obstructing the airflow.

TC, I have the k&n filter in now. I had an ecoguard in there for a half a day before I ditched it and got the k&n. The ecoguard was very restrictive and did not flow well.

Yours was pretty plugged up! I imagine it smelled pretty terrible if some of that buildup was from smoke.

Smelled like cowcrap and smoke inside. The freon smells like the back end of a cow to me, and i had tried charging it with stop leak w/UV die. As had the previous owner.
