What DON'T you like about your RAM?

2. Stupid Tow/Haul button in the center stack instead of the end of the shifter?!
3. The doors that knock you over
4. Cruise control blots out the odometer
5. 6.4 sounds like a hair dryer at idle
6. No detent between cold end of temp dial and max air
7. Can't "tap" the horn button
8. EVIC Lie-O-Meter is usually 1.5-2 mpg optimistic
9. MDS is pretty worthless, even with 4.10 gears
10. Shark fin between the clearance lights

The screetching sound uconnect makes. Might not sound like a big deal, but when your relaxing inside it gets annoying as hell.

I sure wish there were some way to use the door key to unlock the truck without setting off the horn alarm. On my truck you have to unlock with the fob or the horn alarm is going to blow. If you don't have the fob on you, you can't turn it off!

In my truck there is a adapter plug in the glove box. It's to replace the connector at the tailgate, which connects the central lock. And additionally you can program the tailgate out on the settings in the radio. I checked it out and it works. Instructions are also in the handbook.

for me it would be the interior air cabin filter missing and the lousy headlights...and i have the projector which are better than the quads but not where they " should" be.

im surprised anybody would not like the uconnect. The uconnect system is almost unanimously regarded as the best auto operating system on the planet. Go try sync or mylink and then tell me how much you enjoy uconnect.

No cabin air filter
No theft alarm
No HD radio until you get the 8.4AN
( even a low end KIA has the above features )
Also, that they would put the sport mirrors on a truck set up for towing.

-The projector lamp assembly is fine, like others have said, the bulbs they chose are crap. need real HID's

-On the 5.whatever radio, audio quality on bluetooth is crap, as is a direct connection to an iPhone...my pops and cracks like crazy. 1/4" plug and XM audio quality is actually pretty great. I also hate that the radio is slightly turned up every time you start the vehicle.

-I wish I could 100% turn off my radio display. You can in my wife's '15 Chrysler T&C. I despise the "TOUCH TO TURN ON SCREEN" message and the fact that the backlight is left on.

-Rear window defrost would be awesome...sometimes, my rear window is useless in the winter.

-Thankfully I'm not a clean-freak like I used to be with cars...the sprayers on the hood aren't that great and leak all down the hood when they're finished.

-I wish I could disable/enable the locking tailgate. Most times I do not need it and it's just another thing to wear out over time.

-The stock tires are a total joke...

-I wish I could fold up the rear seat in halves instead of an "all or nothing" manner.

There should be a setting in the radio to disable the locking tailgate , I think you just don't choose the option to lock all doors , not sure ?
If for some reason that option is not available to you Sir , the connector @ the tailgate it's two wires , sockets 7 & 8 , you could disconnect there .

I love pretty much everything about my 14 Sport, except the quality....the quality sucks.

Not going to lie, I got this truck for the looks and the engine in it. I am not happy that at 79k miles I am dealing with rear end issues. Every ford I have had has had 30k-150k more miles than this truck and no rear end issues. The noisy blower motor, rattling of assorted things in door and dash, and screwed up e brake mechanism I havnt even dove into that yet. But the truck looks good though... until you see the rust on it and I quote "paint that comes off if you look at it wrong".

Here is my short list and I cannot belie my first gripe hasn't been brought up in the 1st 8 pages so far........

1: BW 44-44 and that's all I got to say 'bout dat
2: cabin filter should be standard, no matter what trim level
3: lack of aftermarket gear options and traction aids
4: paint quality
5: no "radio off"
6: head lights are not so great, no matter the trim level
7: payload is lacking
8: Dagum chrome trim on the center console, "wood grain" could go

Having said all of that, wouldn't trade her for anything currently available, I really do love this truck!

I'm not a big fan of the rotary shifter. I with they still had the column shifter.

I love the rotary shifter! Frees up so much space and isn't as sloppy as a column shifter.

One of the selling points of the 2500 to me was it had the traditional column shifter like a real truck instead of the rotary shifter

I dislike the fact that on the 5.0 radio when you use the volume control the screen becomes useless for 3 seconds while the volume display pops up. Like why does it have to be so intrusive?

The whip antenna is a joke, we have a GPS/SXM antenna on the roof.. they couldn't put an AM/FM Antenna in there too?

Like someone else said, the spray nozzles on the hood are ugly, and if you have a white or silver truck it stains the hood.

The brake pedal is 2 inches higher than the gas pedal, and its too far apart from the gas.. it took me so long to get used to this. When I drive with boots I used to always miss the pedal, you can't just slide your foot over like you can in a car you have to pick your foot up which delays brake time.

MDS. this needs to go. Period. Its stupid, it makes most people hate this truck and look else where. FCA if your reading this you need to do away with MDS on ALL models.. I recently worked with a guy who sold his brand new Long Horn with less than 2k miles on it. He took a hit on the truck because he hated it so much. He went back to Ford.. Way to go RAM..

Rants more than dislikes:

The "HEMI".. we get it.. it was a great marketing tool... in 2004... This motor has its issues, we all know. but we need to stop reinventing old school tech and make a new motor. Look at Fords new line up there is more technology in the Coyote motor then our whole truck. Come on, get over it its time to move on..

Lastly I HATE the new "its not a Dodge" image.. we get it FCA.. Ram is its own thing now.. Except one thing - it's not... Its still FCA, its still Crysler, its still DODGE! You can't come in and separate everything like they are different companies. This is an American brand, here in the states people are brand loyal and like to know that the roots of where something came from are unmolested along the way. The current generation RAM is a Dodge, and people like that. No matter what you do to the outside of the truck its a Dodge, and people will forever know it as such. Putting "RAM" all over it and taking away the cross hair grill is doing nothing but making people worry about what the Italians are going to do with this truck on the next Generation. the Ram 1500 is falling behind now, it doesn't need a facelift, it needs an overhaul and a good one at that. But, you cant take away the Dodgeness, and the toughness of this truck by making it refined and elegant on the next reup. you need to go back to the roots of the Dodge Ram and make a truck that will kick the ass of Chevy and Ford.


I will say I love this truck tho. I would not change anything about it. i just fear for the next Generation and what could become of this brand. I love Dodge I dont want it to become something it should not be because of a buy out..
