When I bought my 2022 RAM April 2024, upon arrival at home, I saw a cluster of plastic on upper mid section of windshield. Wondering what it is? I received several different answers from dealer.. though I would toss it out here.

My apologies for the glare, one of our few sunny days. Anywho, can someone shed light on this for me???

TIA

It appears to be some sort of light diffuser for the spot between the sun visors.

I could see the value of having one of those on my truck.

For clarification, are you referring to the short amber-coloured horizontal lines in the center or the larger area of the non-transparent section in the center of the windshield?

Is it a Laramie trim? If so - the orange lines are the defogger lines to keep the view of the camera that handles forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist clear. Although you may not have all three of those options.

So, reading between the lines and just a little paraphrasing...

" ...forward collision warning (fire missiles), (missile) cruise control, and
lane keep clear assist (fire missiles)"

Yours makes more sense but I still think mine is more fun. :devilfinger:

X2 all of the electronics are in there for the mirror, lane assist, HI beam sensing etc.

LOL, although I think the lane keep clear assist is chaff for missile defense

Forward collision avoidance amongst others... I've set mine off a few times, although it never hit the brakes. So i'm not sure why all the noise and lights were necessary.

Because you didn't have the cajones to WAIT until it hit the brakes by itself...Now go back out there and try it again, and this time, WAIT FOR IT :hidesbehindsofa:

Yes sir, I had forgotten to mention the truck is a Laramie. I bought my Ram this past April, it is a ‘22 model that was priced right with less that 28k on the clock. The previous owner did NOT opt for adaptive cruise nor lane assist. That was fine by me, less to go wrong.

Thank you for your clarification. Clowns at dealership were telling me it was a humidifier for electronics. Good effing grief! If you don’t know, find out and then tell your customer. Thank you again for informing me what the mount is.

Further clarification, my truck is a Laramie. Good assumption previous owner ordered it without all that computerized crap on it. I have NO adaptive cruise, blind spot, no adaptive braking. And this is fine by me. I know how to use my mirrors and I don’t draft folks on the highway. My foot quickly come off the go pedal if I have to suddenly stop. I’m old school and also old. 76 yrs of age and don’t want nor desire all the computerized crap. I still enjoy driving myself, and not the truck driving itself.

I thank you all for your replies, it ****** me off that the idiots at service desk can’t just say, “sorry we don’t know what such and such is for”, rather than giving me some bull crap reply.

So I will have another question, but I have to locate the proper forum for the “horn alert”.

I have to say, I love this truck, as my wife puts it, “it is the lap of luxury”. I owned a 2003 F-150 prior. All it took was a ride into town in a friend’s 2021 Laramie and I was SOLD!

Being 76, this will be the last truck I buy, unless someone smacks the truck, but each time I get behind the wheel I think that I was lucky to find the vehicle I thought often about. I knew long before though that it would be a cold day in hell before I paid full price. This 2022Laramie was perfect, “just” under 28k and got it for $45k.

I posted the Equipment Listing for your truck

So that you have something to refer to when you or someone else wonders what Rear Differential Ratio does it have, did it come with the 1" raised Ride Height, etc.
