If you have 5k spare, then a supercharger hands down for performance.

$5k for a blower is great.
But can you afford the $3k months later for a new transmission too?

I'd rather do a hoss transmission, nice Tq converter, long tubes and a custom true dual with x pipe exhaust, ported TB, intake and chip.

No, you wouldn't have the same gains, but you'd have a super dependable built truck ready for the next time you had $5k sitting around.

Well yes I could afford that down the road but no I don't want that to happen that soon and I agree with what your saying I was considering going that route but with an l&m full built transmission. But this is what I want to hear guys so keep it coming. By the way truck only gets drove a little on the weekends so I was thinking the transmission would hold for a while till I decided to send the transmission off I can do both right now but don't want to put almost 8k in it all at once.

Also I talked to Arrington performance they said they can install their ported heads and cams and dyno tune it, parts and labor for right around $5200

When it comes to reliability and performance, I would stick with the proven bolt on upgrades below...

Vararam Intake
Moe's 87MM Throttle Body
ARH 1 3/4" Longtube Headers
Muffler or catback of your choice
Diablo Tuner with Hemifever Tune
3000 stall tq converter
4.10 gears

You can have all of the above for just under $5000. This is a proven combo for these trucks that has shown huge results both on the dyno and dragstrip while still retaining reliability with the transmission. Then down the road, I would look into the heads/cam package once they have been tested/proven a little more.

With 4.10 gears don't I have to machine my rear end carrier? The vararam intake that won't work with the factory hood will it I don't have the challenger style hood.

The factory 4.10's will bolt on without modification. They are not cheap, but they do still fit within your budget. If you currently have 3.92's, then I would not worry about the gear swap. If you have 3.55's, then I would definitely consider the gears. If you don't want to spring for the 4.10's, you can get the factory 3.92's for less than $400 which is a much more affordable option.

As for the converter, you are correct on the 2800 stall speed. 3000 would give the best street performance, but 2800 will be a better match if you will be towing.

You only carry the factory rear end 4.10 gears correct I don't remember seeing them for the front on your site? I have 3.55 gears right now.

If you are 4wd, then any aftermarket gear for the 8" front will work. Dodge didn't change the front axle until 2012, so you are good to go there.

The Vararam intake works with all factory hoods. The challenger style hood on these trucks isn't even functional, so it does not affect the operation of the intake. It will work perfect on your truck.

Check out Greychevy and TylerB on this forum. Both of these guys are running basically the exact mod list I posted above, and they are the 2 fastest N/A 4th gen hemi trucks I know of. This combo makes great power, and will make the truck very fun to drive. Both of these guys are running 12.8's in the 1/4 mile with no boost or nitrous, and Greychevy is also 4wd.

Greychevy is running 4.56 gears though. Mines also quad cab so wouldn't be that quick. But I didn't know that about the vararam intake do thanks for clearing that up.
