So new VB and New SP? Check sump filter, did you pull out o ring? It usually doesnt come out with filter.

I haven’t been able to get the old o-ring out, it’s majorly stuck in there. It’s from around 2 fluid changes ago.

I’m gonna buy the gray one on Ebay, the guy says he’s a tranny rebuilder so i’m gonna trust him. I’m gonna have it delivered as fast as it can get here on a truck, hopefully the new VB screws will be in too.

Can you see it, are you 100% it isn't two o rings jammed up there? If it is truly just one and it's in good shape, don't worry just keep using it.

It’s just one and it provides a lot of suction whenever i put a filter on, almost hard to put in. There’s only 1.

well that is helpful info. Do you remember where you bought it? Might help next guy. Even helps me, I was gonna do a VB upgrade, but now when I do it I will for sure do SP as well. I think mine is white one.

Most likely explains my issues, what i’m thinking is that the new VB in my truck has different tolerances than the old one, and that the solenoid pack is either worn/damaged inside to where it doesn’t know what the **** to do, and is just acting erratically. I should’ve bought a SP.

I forgot to mention this, I disconnected the battery for around 2 hours and started the truck back up. It didn’t jerk going through the gears, and it shifted fine into 2nd with barely any jerking and then after a few minutes it started to harsh shift again. Is this more conclusive evidence of a bad SP?

Also, there’s a card in bike rim sound when putting it into gear, i don’t know if that has to do with anything. Did it previously too.

All of this is learning process, and I'm glad you reported everything, might help the next guy do it better. Keep my fingers crossed fr you. So this tranny has like 450k plus miles? If this squeezes more life, it wil be an incredible thing. what was total sp/vb? plus fluid? out the door pricing for new brains on an rfe?

Thank you very much once again Burla, and yes, it’s very high mileage, around 503 if i recall correctly. If it does and next week by let’s say friday it’s shifting beautifully, i really hope this helps the next guy.

I just got a factory unit. I had a special circumstance to be able to get one.
