Hello, new here but not to Ram. This is my 5th Ram but first 2500. 2024 6.4 8 speed. Question is when cold upon start up I get a whistle or “squeal” that goes away when warmed up. Kinda sounds like around the tranny area. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Brian

A known issue with rfe's, not as much with 8 speed, but flex plates would have to be main suspect. The rfe's have a peep hole, 8 speed might too?

Whistle is rotational, so check all items that rotate such as belts. Long shot starter starting fail.

Should check trans fluid which is no small task, but low tranny fluid could cause torque converter to whistle. Get down there on a cold start with stetho scope and find it. If it isn't a belt frey, you will want to identify this item sooner then later.
