Hi. I have a 2006 1500 2wd 4.7L ram. I'm looking to put my old xbox 360 in my truck. Here's the rundown on whats in the truck already: 600 watt amp going to two 10" subs, 400 watt amp going to doors, pioneer fold out head unit, 2 farad capacitor. I've looked into power options for the xbox and talked to a few manufacters; the best way to go would be a 300 watt pure sine inverter hard wired to the battery (so im told). My problem comes with location for mounting and how to mount the xbox. Ive done a ton of research and havent found anything short of redoing the dash (which I have no interest in doing). IF ANYONE HAS DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS, PLEASE HELP!!!
Thanks a bunch in advance

i would look into doing a custom center consol with mounts for the xbox.
Ramhunter and HK kid did some sweet centerconsel stuff to hold subs and what not.

id put it under the seat if your amps are not there, if quad cab you could make a console on the center hump in back, could also put in bottom center console up front with a little modding, or gut your glove box and you might be able to get it in there

I kinda want to go with more of a stealthy install, and I don't want to build a center console; I'm really considering the glove box, but I'm not sure how one would go about MAKING the mount for an xbox 360. It seems lke no one makes a decent mount that could be installed in a car

Easiest thing would be fiberglass, and custom console, but you have no interest in that, so put it under the passenger seat. I really don't see how you are going to make the glove box work.

just wondering, why do you want your xbox in your truck?

Not sure of OPs motives but the funniest thing happened taking the kids home this evening.

Both my son and daughter asked me what it would take to get the XBOX put into the truck and how cool it would be. As far as my motives...another toy in the truck for the kids to enjoy.

Not a cheap project though...

To start...another XBOX
lockpick
Headrest monitors
Headphone jacks ( in case I get tired of heariing it )
Mounting for stability and cooling
Power supply and Wiring

the problem i see with it is the way the discs are held in the xbox. for some reason xbox doesnt hold the discs well and if the xbox is barely moved while a disc is spinning, it creates a circular scratch in the disc... I had this happen to me while I was playing my xbox in an rv, it wound up scratching a couple of my discs. Im not sure if the newest one or any of them have fixed this issue... it would be pretty cool to have done especially for kids, but im not sure if theres a way to fix this problem so it wont ruin discs

I have a large system in my truck. 12 Infinity Kappa's, 2 ALPINE SWR-1023D 10", 2 Rockford 1000watt amps, 1 Sony 800watt amp, Kenwood DVD/flip out headunit, 4 Monitor's, and a SonyPS....all wireless controls and wireless headsets. The PS system is mounted in the center console, with a power inverter that I just plug into the power outlet in the center console ( not hard wired) and works fine. Been in the truck over 4 years.
