So the 15mpg in my lifted, deleted cummins isn't more than the 10.5 I was getting in my lifted 1500? Well I'll be damned.
I'm talking stock. My 1500 got 23 mpg US all day on the highway before my lift. The stock HD trucks cannot match that mileage.

Even with my lift and 35's I easily get 19 mpg highway now. Driving habits stay the same, 90 kmh on cruise.

This last tank I got 12.4 mpg which is terrible for my truck. I was towing a 25' covered trailer back and forth to work all week (5 min in town drive with lots of stops), lots of idle on remote start, and being heavy on the throttle.

Well all I can say is that a deleted cummins can beat my truck with stock tires, and I smoked a 6.4 hemi with my heavy ass 35's. Plain and simple.

No that's not true at all. I didn't buy a cummins because I had no need for a 2500. I had a build plan in mind, I wanted to build a Ram 1500. My next truck will be a 1500 as well. If I did buy a HD truck it would be a 2500 GM Denali Duramax. Hell I almost ordered one this year. Bottom line is that I just have no need for a truck that big. Plus I have a company F-250 diesel I can use whenever I need to pull more than my truck can handle.

I looked at a Duramax before I ordered my 16 3500 Mega. I did not like the idea of not having a solid front axle on a HD truck...

Another reason I stuck with a 2500 is a lot of equipment rental places around me won't let you tow there equipment with anything smaller than a 2500.

Yeah that makes sense. Using a 3/4 ton makes a big difference when you've got some weight behind you! I pulled an 8000 lb mini excavator on a 2000 lb flatbed one day with my dad's 3/4 ton. Didn't even know it was back there!

I got 12 if I was lucky with bilsteins and 35s. I think you guys make **** up to make your truck sound better than it is.

Did you ever get a chance to see my hypermill thread? I managed almost 23 US mpg out of my truck the way it sits now. Details in the link below. When I get 19 mpg I'm only doing 10 kmh more than the speed listed in that thread, plus not being careful to accelerate slowly.

http://www.ramforum.com/showthread.php?t=72949

I've got another thread where I achieved great mileage without hypermilling. I'll edit this post with that link once I find it. I don't make this **** up, these are 100% true and hand calculated numbers.

The only time I've got 10 mpg was pulling a 7000lb travel trailer.

**Edited to add link for second thread**

I get around 16-17MPG in my 13 with Bills at 2.1" and Falken 35.5" Tires. Curious to see what the Mega cab gets when It arrives.

Bragging about 23mpg driving 50mph?
On hilly roads with a lifted truck and heavy ass 35's, you bet I am. Show me one other person who gets close to that with a set up like mine.

If he drove 50 on the highway he'd have to pull over every so often and let fuel out cuz at that speed he'd be making fuel, not using it.

buying a 2500 to me with all **** aside is like buying a mustang v6 edition.....you just don't do it... buy a 1500 and add airbags if you need more towing cap

This is one of the best things I've ever read on a message board. Yep, you're right and millions of people driving 3/4 ton trucks are wrong.

The fact that I'll beat you to the top of the hill scares me since then I'll be in front of you going down the other side.
