Another question: the seats came with the yellow connector from the truck side as well. Would it be easier to just splice those onto my existing truck seat harnesses and then lay some wire out for the extra “tails” left over to where they all have to go?

No it is definitely better to just scrap those pigtails and have deer guy from M2mods make you the conversion harness. It will give you an extremely clean install and it will look factory. You can also have him make you the correct harness to enable the inverter that's underneath the passenger seat and you can actually have that work as well. You can de pin the power wire that is going into the yellow plug and insert it into your existing plug for now to run power to but that's all I would use out of those harnesses.

Any idea what the correct pins are for the wires into and out of the heated seat module? Im anticipating adding power to the rear heater pads and wanted to use the factory output of the heated seat module (if possible).

I have access to the service manual but cant figure out how to tell what molex pins are the correct ones.

Thanks.

No I'm not sure what size/type pins actually go into the heated seat module. I had all of the schematics when 00/RT and I figured out all of the wiring to make the heated/vented seats work but never was able to get the actual info on the part numbers for any of the actual pins for the modules.

How about a mod on top of a mod?

Change the thread color of a steering wheel, to match custom Katzkin covers. Anyone ever tried it?

I think it would look really cool but I dont know what the stock leather wrap looks like once removed. I have a two tone set of Katzkins (lapis gray and cardinal red), could use the same color stitching on the steering wheel, or at least just the red to match the seat stitching.

Oh and to make it more complicated, I have the heated steering wheel.

YouTube vid from a 3rd party wheel cover maker:

3 min in and he's maybe 1/2" lol. And it's time lapse. More power to ya if you got the patience for that one. Would definitely be a custom touch no one else has.

Yeah I saw the Rebel one, too expensive for my blood.

I was able to get an excellent condition heated black leather wheel for 140 shipped. Will probably just leave it at that but while its sitting in my basement taking up space would be the perfect time to mod it :)

the ground in the trucks existing yellow connector under the driver's side is good enough, or do I need to run another one? not sure if the passenger side on the truck has a ground wire in the plug or not either.

thanks for the help with this!

As long as its grounding the correct wire it should be fine.

I found enough time today and finished putting the 2 seats in. They seem to work as far as the power functions go. I need to get a harness and some switches to enable the heated function, which I can definitely see using.

Yip just get ahold of Deer Guy from M2mods and he will hook you up with a harness that you can't tell isn't factory. You will also need to purchase the alpha program and an OBD Link MX to enable the codes. He can also include the wiring for the inverter if you chose.

Have the alfaobd and the OBD link Bluetooth mx. Enabled atc single zone and made my bcm think it’s a limited. Good program, that alfaobd.

The thread was white to start?

The thread on my steering wheel(s) is black, cant really change it to red very easily.
