The MX+ connects with my phone and app perfectly; but I keep getting an OBD protocol error. I have no idea what to do now. I've tried troubleshooting it; but so far nothing.
Set the comm protocol to: ISO 15765-4 (CAN 11bit/500k baud)
You really don't need to have the OBDLink app installed, it sorta sucks but you use it to update the firmware of the MX+
If you want a better app to monitor vehicle parameters, check out the Torque App, with the Pro version you can program custom PIDs

So quick question.

Do we have a comprehensive list of what all the options in the BCM pages are?

Some are pretty self explanatory, i.e. "Child Display Feature Present" is the dash warning to check the backseat for your kid.

However things like "Police Lighting Feature" are any ones best guess. (Granted we know what this does for the most part but is still a good example since we don't know everything that it does)

I have checked out the google drive docs and we have a lot of posts here (821 pages worth) and for someone that is pretty new to the process having to go through all 800+ pages of posts is daunting to say the least.

I have followed some of the instructional posts and been able to do most of the changes that I wanted to do up to this point, but I was just wondering if anyone had something like that to use as like a quick reference.

Thanks

@TX_Storm_Wagon Currently no, there is not a list of all the different settings in the BCM and exactly what they do. There are still a few that I believe no one knows what exactly they do. You have to remember there are setting in Alfa that have nothing to do with Rams. Alfa applies to all FCA vehicles.

Good rule of thumb, if you're not sure then ask or simply move on from it. We have had members go through a lot trying to get their vehicles back to stock config after selecting something they were not sure of. The police lighting feature if memory serves me correctly was one of them.

If someone wants to take on the daunting task of fully identifying every setting we see in the BCM then by all means, please. Lol

I mostly curious how anyone found out that the driver and passenger door ajar switch circuit is what was used for the lamp out warnings on factory projector trucks....like how does one even guess that?

So, I started trying to connect using the several 15765 protocols and it failed. I switched it back to automatic and it worked. Weird.

If one of you guys decide you have enough time and want to create a doc with all that information, i would be happy to post it in one of my future videos with full credit, so everyone has full access to it. I know this would be a job and a half and take a special somebody to do it...
FYI @Ghost_RAM you have done a phenomenal job sir! [emoji6]

Lol. I may have been. I wanted my factory projector headlight install mimic factory settings, so I used a BCM dump of a truck that came with them. That’s when I discovered it.

Anyone that's added Foglights/wiring and enabled via AlfaOBD vs dealer care to confirm the AlfaOBD settings used and I will update the Foglight harness install thread ? (Since I used AE tool previously).
- DIY: Add 2013-2018 OEM Foglight Wiring.

I believe the related sections should match in AlfaOBD but I might have the lingo mixed up...

Enable Foglights:
- "Ecu Config 01 - CBC Configurable Inputs/Outputs".
>> "Front Fog Lamps Output Present" = SET/YES

Fogs ON with high beams:
- "Ecu Config 02 - CBC Features"
>> "Front Fog Lamp Dropout Enable" = NOT SET/NO

I have enabled fogs with alphaobd. I don't have alphaobd in front of me but had these screen shots saved and am pretty sure this was all that I did

Did anybody get the DRL Voltage Output configured / reduced with success?

I have set my DRL to the Foglights and would have it not so bright to increase the bulb lifetime.

Great thread!!

I've got just about everything working on my '18 Laramie 3500 with a 7" EVIC and 8.4 w/out NAV but have a couple questions. Sorry if I missed the answer in here.

1) Removed: Found the Answer

2) Is there a way to get a compass heading on my 8.4? I was in a friends '14 with a 8.4 w/out NAV and he as a compass there.

Thanks!

They took the feature away with the 18+ UAS non Nav and UAQ Nav radios. Even if you enable the code the compass heading won't come up on the screen. It was a feature on the 13 to 17 RA3 non factory Nav and RA4 Factory Nav radios.
