They took the feature away with the 18+ UAS non Nav and UAQ Nav radios. Even if you enable the code the compass heading won't come up on the screen. It was a feature on the 13 to 17 RA3 non factory Nav and RA4 Factory Nav radios.

I had wondered the same thing. Thanks for the explanation.

@AH64ID, welcome to the forum sir! There's a lot of great folks on here that have taught me a lot about these newer trucks.
I remember you from the TDR. I haven't been on there in forever, but still subscribe. I recall you had a great filtration setup on your old truck that I learned a lot from.

Thank you, yes that's me.

I was quite happy with that setup, luckily Ram got their act together with filtration and I won't have to add anything to this truck.

You mean like this?
... 18 Laramie CC with UAQ (factory UAS).

My BCM config is listed in the OP0b600f8cd836eb88ed613540e3f0d77c.jpg

M² Mods.

We are referring to the compass heading on the top of the radio on the RA3 RA4 radios next to the outside temp as well as in the Nav icon. The UAS/UAQ radios do not show the compass heading on the top of the screen. 658e6fa1e6e53f02fdac6f1512e05ede.jpg

My assumption is that is kinda redundant because if you look at the actual Nav icon it tells you the same thing.

Only if you have NAV.

I would prefer to take the compass off my EVIC and have it on the UAS.

You make a valid point! I agree but if you’re driving you shouldn’t be looking at the radio!! Lmao.

With that logic you shouldn’t be looking at the gauge cluster either. ;) Outside temp is on the radio, and can be looked at for safety reasons much more often.

It should be part of a quick scan, so not really an issue.

Wanted to say thanks to everyone in this thread. In the last couple days I’ve added

Global windows down

Enabled factory alarm

Daytime running lights.

Soon I will install the trailer brake control and remote start hopefully.

One question though, I went to my dealer and was given my pin code without question but I have never had to use the code. Is it only needed to change certain features?

Thanks again for all the help, this forum Rocks!!!

Pretty much anything with the RF hub will require that 4 digit pin. Resetting the RF hub. Programming new fobs. Etc

This forum has already cost me plenty, I keep meaning to make myself a list of all the mods I’ve done lol.

On a side note I think I followed your videos for both the alarm and windows down :)

So new here . I just got a OBD link with ALFA OBD . I have retro fit projector headlights with Morimoto D2s 5.0 , Halo LEDS and Swichtbacks ( diode dynamics ) Morimoto tails and recon 3rd brake . I’ve been getting a “ parking light out “ error that comes up on startup but goes away but still in the stored messages tab . I went in and cleared the errors told the truck I am running LEDS in all the tabs etc . Let the truck sit all night and went to leave with the same error again . I did a error check and it said left park light out . Am I doing anything wrong on the activation of LEDS? I did not change 1 setting then wait 5 min I changed them all one by one but the settings saved . Wanted to ask before I check my connections on the headlight again

Ok looking for some help on VTA, seem to be missing something

On the known working list is says:
IN & Misc: VTA System Present
Select “yes”

Yes isn’t a choice, it’s None, VTA, ITM, ITM no siren

I set it to VTA but it’s still not working and no LED on the dash.

I’ve double checked all the other settings.

Only difference is I have my resistor set to 1K and it works for remote start.
