Clearly you have legitimate concerns, hopefully you will get answers from higher ups, if not hopefully they will settle. I just meant worst case you have a new engine, there are worst stories out there.

7 days later and NOT A SINGLE WORD from the dealership. 7 days to figure out whether a power steeering rack and control arms are going to be covered under the B2B extended warranty is just ridiculios, all the time they are charging me for a rental to drive!!

This crap is coming way to frequent. They are trying to concoct a way to not cover it. Man I hope the new 7.3l Godzilla motor Ford just out out has some long term reliability as committing to the hemi long term is not the answer. Way too many failures, even multiple failures at that. Pair that with dealers who try everything they can to not cover your warranty. Bunch of BS. And to pay for a loaner while your warranteed vehicle is at the dealer for repair? ****

Sorry to hear.......maybe you should post dealership name so others would know to stay away.
John Hiester dealerships would have given you a free rental & more urgent communication/ service.

I wouldn't buy another hemi, even if they covered it they are out of parts, lol.

Curious what leads to these unreliable HEMI statements. My first was one of the first 1500’s with a hemi in January 2003, put 120k on it without a single issue, and never babied. 2nd was a new 2008 that my ex-wife is Driving with close to 170k, again no issues. On my 3rd which is 6.4 that I’ve put 20k on in one year. So far, nock on wood, no issues. Have hauled loads, towed trailers, and generally beat on them all without a whimper. Not saying that there cannot be bad ones, but nobody I know with one has ever had engine trouble.

Search internet mechanics like motor city and stick around and see how often fca is out of cams and lifters because they are failing so often. Those mechanics with an internet presence have zero horse in the race, often having 3 Rams in the background with failed cams as they speak how often they see the issue, and btw because cam jobs are about 1/2 price at an independant shop, fca never sees how many of these are failing. Would you pay 8000 grand at a dealer or 3900 at an independant? And that doesn't even include hemi tick and how prevalent that is. Yes some go 500k plus miles, and plenty don't, luck of the draw, maybe you lucky.

So..... NOW THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT CALLED TO SAY THAT IT WILL NOT BE COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY, A FRIEND'S SON WORKS IN THE TIRE SHOP THERE, SO HE DID SOME DIGGING FOR ME. I AM PAYING FOR A RENTAL, AND THEY ALREADY KNOW THEY ARE NOT GOING TO COVER IT. THIS IS NOT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUE, THIS ISSUE IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE ENGINE SWAP, AND THE FACT THAT FOR 16 DAYS MY TRUCK WAS ON A LIFT WITH THE 22" RIMS AND TIRES HANGING, AND THAT IS STILL BEFORE WE HAVE EVEN TALKED THE ACTUAL PHYSICAL DAMAGE THAT THEY DID TO MY TRUCK!! I HAVE REQUESTED MORE THAN 5-10 TIMES TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE ABOVE THE SERVICE CENTER MANAGER AND I KEEP GETTING DEFLECTED!!!!!

I AM LITERALLY BLOWN AWAY BY THIS TREATMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once they screw up, then it is deny, deny, deny. Sounds like a hack did the work. I am have not ever hired a lawyer for anything like this, but I would make the call ASAP at this point.

The pre Eagle Hemi's were considerably more reliable than the 2009 and newer versions. All you ever hear about with the older engines was the occasional dropped valve seat. That problem seemed pretty rare compared to the Eagles cam/lifter problems which it seems we hear about a new case almost on a daily basis. I would consider a Ford but they are too expensive and ride like **** compared to the Ram and the warranty of course since I have the lifetime warranty on mine.

Man Fords drive like ****, lol. A dump truck feels better. And expensive as well.

I have driven few but those I have driven (f150 f250) they rode rough. That's what frustrates me. These rams ride so damn good. I have a 14 with a 4" lift on 35s. Nothing compares to it. It says something when my wife (who notices nothing with vehicles) says my truck drives so good. I have driven a lot of different vehicles. Nothing is as nice as my ram imo. So smooth, effortless and comfortable.

I guess by reading between the lines in all this, it comes back to there being no perfect truck. Pick your favorite and fix what you don't like about it. It just sucks that you have good odds of having to fix the motor if you keep a hemi long term. Atleast it's a one time fix if done right. Just make sure you start with the right truck.

Those coil back suspensions just improved ram's ride quality so much it isn't even funny, and at the same time the new fords drive worse then the 90's fords.

Your talking about twin I beam I reckon? Twin I beam was pretty decent when the truck was new but once the truck got some miles on it that row row row yer boat **** (steering) especially on a rutted or worn out road made for some tough driving. I got to admit too that the older Ford trucks rode a hell of a lot better than the new ones and there was miles of engine compartment there to go as big as you wanted and still have room to work.

Wow. I almost want to stay off these forums. Sometimes I'm driving around just waiting for something to break because of some of the stuff I read here.
I know many people come on here to vent, and report bad stuff, but it can't help to make you feel a little paranoid.
Like is my truck gonna end up being one of the problematic lumps that some people bought.
And the dealer nonsense when they try to figure out any bizarre excuse they can to deny warranty work.

I never worried about brands of oil or filters before. I always bought the popular mainstream stuff and used what the manual called for and never had an issue. Then I come on here and read all the conflicting reports about viscosity and brands and such. Now it takes a week to decide which oil and filter I should use because this stuff sticks in my head, and then I second guess my decision the whole time.
