Can't say for sure on the 19's but I get between 16-17 in my 2018 highway doing about 65. Doubt even a 2019 would get over 18 doing 74MPH. Slow it to 55-60 and you probably could.

Ditto, 73mph cruise, i was getting 15-16

Ford Aluminum trucks have really high rates for repair. my Diesel was regenerating daily couldn't find reason even after several 1 hr hwy trips dealer said deal with it NOT!!! regent were take milage to under 12mpg

Changed to 3500 Longbox same equipment major saving on 2019 on lot. Tow 5th wheel better.

Had a 2017 Ecodiesel and I pull a 6,500 lbs. travel trailer, it did well, my only problem is I ran out of payload real quick (my bad)...one of the reasons I got the crew cab was so we could take friends with us when we go camping, after doing the numbers that 1540 lbs. payload wouldn't be enough.

I'm sure the truck could handle the couple of hundred extra pounds, but if something happened and I had an accident, the insurance company would go over that rig with a fine tooth comb...then they wouldn't cover it.

So I bought a 2019 crew cab 2500 6.4 with 3500 lbs payload...problem solved and i'm loving the truck!

Cummins - Didn't really need it but I was in the market for something bigger than my half ton quad cab, and it came down to this lightly used 2017 or a new 2018 with the 6.4. The Cummins was actually a little cheaper. Either truck would have suited my needs but I chose the Cummins for 3 reasons.

A) I know me and big tires and heavy bumpers were probably in the future, so I felt like the Cummins wouldn't be impacted as much.
2) Resale value
D) I wanted it

When in doubt...always go with D)

Thanks. Sold our old boat summer 2018 and bought this one August 2018. Had a 2013 1500 that was rated to tow 8600. I weighed it as it sits in this pic but with the swim platform on and it was 8750 and that's with all tanks empty. Add 75 gallons of fuel and all of our normal stuff and we are well over 9000 so bought the 2500 May 2019.

Smart move. Will be a night and day difference in towing experience with the 1/2 ton over the 3/4 ton. Sure, the half ton would make due, but the hd will make it much more enjoyable.

Yeah. I towed it a few times with the 1500 and it was fine but the 2500 is much better. I weighed it last year and the tongue weight was about 650lbs. I bought a 4" drop insert this year so the coupler is about 2" lower so might be about 750lb tongue weight now. Checked it today and it sagged 3/4". Boats have much less tongue weight cause of the engine in the back. Typical boats are about 7-10%.

I had every intention of going to a CTD this time around from my 6.4 because the wife wanted a 5th wheel pretty quick once the last kid leaves the nest. She changed her mind and now would rather have a nice little boat to cruise the lake and fish from. So, I decided to get the truck I have always wanted and got a power wagon since the payload isn't much of a concern any more.

Honestly, I am much happier with this decision. Everything else we have around here is a diesel, and to be honest- it's a pain in the ass around here having to constantly worry about **** fuel, etc.

Sometimes its hard to tell in a picture how big a boat actually is... and then you look at the second picture of your giant boat and little toy truck.

The boat is 25'. From the very tip of the coupler to the propeller it's about 31'

I have a 2015 Mega Cab 2500 CTD and torn on gas or diesel for our next truck. The extra purchase cost does not bother me as that money comes back when you sell it but the maintenance costs and at least my view on reliability is pushing me towards gas. I no longer race so no big trailer to haul, it is now just tows a wakeboat and family road trip vehicle with our big dogs loving the lay flat back seats. If there was a half ton mega cab I would be all over that but not an option. The one thing I have noticed in DFW area is finding a gas mega cab is nearly impossible even though there are about 600 2500 new trucks for sale in the metroplex. This has me strongly considering sticking with the CTD since if there was a market for gas mega cabs some dealers would stock them.

I had to order my 2020 Mega Cab with the 6.4. There were one or two around the state but nothing with the 4.10’s.

It's been a lot of years since I've had a Ram/Dodge, but the 6.4 seems to be a regional thing. After 25 years of diesels (Ford and Dodge)I'm going back to gas. Here in SoCal most of the dealers cocked their heads like my dog does when I said I was looking for a 3500 cab/chassis with a 6.4. I ended up ordering what I wanted, supposed to be ready tomorrow, we'll see ;)
Jesus I'm going to be pissed if the dog was right......:whymewhyme:
