Thanks for your input! So that part number is for a new filler neck correct?
Yes. It was for mine. I had the clicking off problem, but it also “cured” the stuck nozzle deal. I did not need a new gas tank, which they had ordered but didn’t need. Here in Colorado they seem to be going to those Californicate type fillers at station with that “boot” that is supposed to do something for ya like a PITA stuck filler. I have no problem with the click off deal or the boot issue. Good luck. Complain to dealer and try my part number. You May get it for $0 as it’s a safety issue as I see it.

Yea I think that’s what they’ll try next! My dad works at our local dealership and we’re good friends with the service manager so I’m not worried about them not fixing it, just wanted to help try narrow down what the issue could be. But we don’t have those type of boots on the gas nozzle yet. My ‘15 had the gettin stuck issue but this ‘17 doesn’t as of yet lol maybe this will kill two birds with one stone.

It’s a new issue. First started when I filled up Virginia when I was down visiting family over July 4th. Thought the pump was just ****** up. Came home to my usual Sunoco gas station and gas pump I use and it did it again. Million god forsaken clicks til I got it full again. That’s when I made the appointment at the dealership and the changed the filter. Picked my truck up and went and got gas again. Same station but a different pump this time and it still did it. Had an appointment for it to go back before I was done getting it filled. I have a 2017 rebel now btw.

Just seems odd that it just started vs been happening since new. Your family that you were visiting doesn't have mischevious neighbor kid do they? :) One that likes to put sticks down gas fillers? Good luck and let us know what you find.

Lol no don’t think that happened. All grown adults with the exception of my kids but they know better than to touch my truck lol plus it’s parked where it can be seen there

I bought my 2018 used, and had problems putting gas in the first time I filled it up. Even though my truck is still under warranty, I ordered and installed the new-design filler tube (part # 68448220AA) myself. It was about $50 and took only about an hour or so. No more problems getting gas in.

Thanks! Sounds like this should be the fix then.

I had this issue for years with my old f-150. What I used to do is put the nozzle in upside down, that usually kept the flow going. Really annoying issue but that usually resolved it.

YUP, as others have said, it is actually the filler tube and the angle going to tank which then causes venting issues. The part numbers to repair posted above. Since I have a MY 19, no issues, except, honestly, I prefer a gas cap to capless, guess cause I am older, LMAO. NE body remember like the Mustangs and the Mavericks with the gas tanks in the rear center. WAT a MESS they were, LOL. Showing my age.

So I’m currently having issues with filling my truck up with gas. Doesn’t matter how far in the nozzle is it or how fast you have it going in it repeatedly kicks off the nozzle. Takes about 20 minutes, a 150 trigger pulls, sweat and anger at high levels to fill my tank. Already had it to the dealer and they replaced the vent filter next to the gas lid, didn’t fix it. Anyone else have this issue?

I have a 17 RAM 1500 with the exact problem. Took it to the dealer, gas tank was cracked in side. Something do do with a baffle. I have a FCA warranty and paid $100. and they put on a new tank. I have never heard of a gas tank going bad before. I had 50,000 miles on mine when this happened.

No issue like that. The issue alot of us have is that certain pumps (Costco for one) the nozzle always gets stuck in the filler pipe and requires some finessing to get it out.
Same.

Damn I’m impressed they found that lol. Mine only has 24,000 miles but still could happen I guess.

I also have that problem at Costco. I found if you hold it up a little it works fine.

I have a 2018 2500 and have the same issue at Costco. Click click and more clicks. Not all stations do it. Sam's Club does not. But it is definitely related to air pressure in the tank as you fill. I cracked the seal at Costco to vent, Yea I know it ain't the way the nozzle works but....... The clicking stopped. The vent system at the fuel nozzle may not be 100% venting properly. Thus air pressure could build and then the clicks. Just a thought

So it went into the dealership today and they pulled the vent tube off that they put the new filter on and couldn’t get any air through it. They did whatever to repair it so we’ll see when I get gas in a day or two if it worked.

i have same problem, but it doesn't matter what pump I fill at it gets stuck, sometimes I could be 5 minutes trying to get it out.Yes I have watched all youtube videos on how to get it out, lift, push down blah blah blah, doesn't work with mine till temper kicks in and I put two feet on side of truck and drag it out lol,I won't let my wife use my truck because of this,if it's low on gas and she goes to fill it will be panic situation lol, good excuse not to get your wheels destroyed by curbs etc.I have ordered new nozzle from Benny here at mopar parts to fix problem because it's literally a pantomime when I'm at a gas station.

I just found that there was a class action suit filed in 2019 regarding the problems of having it click off many times as well as the nozzle getting stuck. They cite cases where the fire Dept had to come to get the nozzle out or had to call AAA. I don't know the status of the lawsuit. It takes me 15 minutes to fill mine at multiple different stations. Clicks off every 1/2 gallon no matter how hard I push the nozzle in or what orientation. I have a 2018 1500.
