You'll also need your 4 digit pin for the rf hub. 2 ways to get it. Dealer (sometimes problematic or charge for it) or if the dealer wants more than $15 for it you can use the Chrysler pin puller app and retrieve it yourself.

Just updated my AlfaOBD software and was browsing thru it. Under the RF Hub in active diagnostics, I see a "Read PIN" procedure. Description says it reads the PIN from RF hub memory. Is this the one you are referring to? I know there are 2, the RF PIN and the key PIN. I assume I will need both, as my remote start kit comes with 2 new fobs.

I HAVE BECOME AN EXPERT IN THIS!!! Any led bulbs will work. For signal/tail lights make sure you have the SWITCHBACK bulbs ordered. That is the equivalent of our 2 filaments in one bulb for those who don't know. Standard 3157 led wont work must be switchback 3157 or whatever the bulb number is. Next make sure you enable combined rear lighting in AlphaOBD menu. This tells the truck that both the brake and signal light is the same bulb. Thats all I had to do but went one step further and enabled led brake light and led signal settings. No more codes for me!

For error on the middle brake light make sure to enable LED CHMSL. It sounds stupid but took me forever to figure out this meant center high mounted stop light lol. No more code there either
have switched everybulb in truck now to LED including fogs/highs/rears, signals and even interiors. I came to forum tonight to get info on last error for dome light but I am sure I will find the answer lol. Anyway I have totally figured this out if anyone needs help. Even did a successfull cluster swap from 3.

I wonder if its that "combined rear lighting" one you set. I haven't heard anyone mention that before (that I can remember anyway)...

I am been watching videos on alpha obd and combined rear lighting has to do with the two signals the blinkers have. So you will want to enable it so the bcm thinks there's two good s
signals when using LEDS.

I think that's right. hahaah

Nice Ram,,

I just picked myself up a 1500 Hollad Blue Harvest myself. Love the color and doubt I will ever see another one around me.

I just installed a new UAQ in my 2019 Warlock and can not believe how well it all came out.

First I'd like to thank the people in this forum, and especially Mpgrimm2, tron67j, SitKneelBend, and Benny at AllMoparParts.com.

Prior to replacing the radio, I spent many days and read literally thousands of posts on this forum. I ordered the new unit through Benny, and it arrived a week after I placed the order. Following the instructions I got from this forum, I was able to remove the old radio and install the new one in less than 30 minutes. Normally when I work on a car, it's with a hammer and a credit card and nothing works right after I'm finished. But this time, when I started the truck, everything worked great. I still have trouble believing it all worked out so well.

I was really impressed that the new unit pretty well saved all my settings on the unit. It kept the settings on everything except my station presets on AM and FM. On the old UAS system, I had never activated the SiriusXM but it is up and running on the new unit. Also, I used AlphaOBD and set the Travel Link to yes and I now also have it working. I was surprised that nothing came up about activating a trial period or a request for credit card info or whatever. But in any event, it is all working. And it was totally plug and play with the exception of the Travel Link setting in Alpha.

Again, I want to say thank you to everyone in this forum.

I'm going to be the stubborn one and ask a question that's been asked since 2009 because I refuse to accept defeat haha. So I don't guess there is anyway with all the wonders of Alfaobd that anybody has figured out how to get high idle on a truck with a G56 in it have they? I have read til my eyes have bled and haven't found anything concrete other than a concrete block to get my truck to stay in high idle when I need it to. Beating a dead horse I know but refuse to believe it cant be done.

This might be your only option short of a real tuner (which Alfa is not).

I don't believe that function works. I haven't tried it. I heard he was working on adding that feature but may not because of security reasons.

Depending on your relationship with your dealer they may put up a little fight giving you the code or charge you for it. I've heard multiple different stories on why they won't/can't give it out. Not a 100 percent sure on how true some are, some make sense. There is a letter, probably on post 1, stating that you have a right to the pin since you "own" the vehicle. It all depends on your relationship with the dealer and how much you want to fight to get it. Lot's of people try, get resistance from the dealer then use the Chrysler pin puller app (Google play store) and pay the $15 for it and get it instantly.

You only need the rf hub pin. The key pin is the cut key code. When you program the new keys you'll need the 4 digit rf hub pin then you'll just swap the cut key over, unless you buy new blanks.

Great info, thanks. My dealer is great; the parts boss, not so much. I asked for the PIN for my 09 1500 Laramie and he said they are not allowed to give that out. I already have the pin puller app, so I'll likely just go that route. After at least attempting the PIN read from AlfaOBD. Can't hurt to try, I'd imagine it'll just give an error if it isn't working yet.

Yeah most likely would say error or not supported

So much to read through... 530 pages of information and I am going screen blind and Frontal Lobe mushy. Have an MX+ and the AlphaObd app. Will I still need the Security Cable to make changes to a later model 2019 2500 Bighorn? When using the security bypass, do I still need a pin from the dealer? Are there any changes that can be made without the cable? I'm not looking to rebuild the entire truck, I just want the reset the TPMS window for right now.

2014 1500. Installing a new PCM.
Has anyone tried the "VIN Write" option under the "Engine" module?
I'm thinking this is all it needs as the 14 is already unlocked. Just wondering if anyone has any experience. I've tried searching, no luck

So new to owning a RAM truck and completely new to posting on the forum. I have a 2017 RAM Crew Cab Bigh Horn with the 6.4L. The truck came with factory quad halogen lights. I would like to enable DRL, be it with Fog Lamps or the low beams. I do have AlfaOBD and an android tablet and I have read the forums and messed with the DRL settings and can’t seem to get them to work. Wondering if someone can point me in the right direction of a document that shows how to do this. On the threads I have seen lots of different configurations mentioned and I was hoping someone could chat with me about what my setup is and see if we can get them to work. Help?

Switched the tail light bulbs out for Yorkim LED bulbs. Also switched the third brake light cargo lights and the tail reverse lights to Yorkim LEDs. Love the look and they work just fine. However, I have the dreaded “parking light out” message that shows up. Mine is showing up only when the lights are turned on or come on by auto AND I press the brake or use a turn signal. I have all parameters in OBD set to LED present. I am wondering if the only fix for this is to wire in a resistor for the tail light bulbs? If anyone can help with this it would be greatly appreciated!

CBC Features: Rear Lighting DTC Disabled....set it to Yes. This should cover all of the rear lights from triggering a warning.

New to alphaOBD but I've used Forscan for fords a bunch. AlphaOBD seems way easier.
Of course though I can't get it to read my OBD interface. lol

I'm using the PC version.

This is the one I use for Forscan. I just have to switch back and forth the HS and MC can when I use it
View attachment 241087

I might just have to use the android version and use he OBDlink MX
I use the OBDlink MX with a laptop AND forscan - 3 different laptops and 1/2 dozen different FORDS mostly late model pickups and never had ANY adaptor issues
my point is you can get the MX and use the PC version for both FORD and RAM

I don’t see that option in the OBD. Perhaps it’s under a different name? Do you connect to instrument panel or body computer for this?

Hi all, new here and just picked up a 2018 Ram 2500 CC 6.4L today. I have played with AlfaOBD on my 09 1500 4x4, but wanted some clarification as I have searched and not found a definite answer. I see on 2018+ we need a security bypass cable. Is this needed for ALL functions of AlfaOBD? Can I use it to view and reset codes without the cable? Program new FOBIKs? Thanks in advance!!
post 2018 the bypass cable is needed for ANY tool to truck commands IE test procedures like turning on lights using alphaOBD requires the cable
without the cable you can only READ data FROM the truck so error codes and live data
fobic programing requires tool to truck comms so the cable is required

the DRL lights DO NOT come on unless engine is running AND the trans is in drive / reverse AND the park brake is released - basically you have to be driving for them to come on
best way to see them is pull infront of a shop with windows and look at your reflection as you pull in
or have a friend in front of the truck while you back up ETC

Yes understand when they are supposed to be on and off. I was asking for settings to change in OBD to get them enabled. I followed two different setups and they still don’t work.
