Sounds to me like they gave the options for premium power fold mirrors like I have. They only thing I would think it could've done was possibly thrown a code as it was not present. Since you now have a detail of all options set, I would suggest deselecting the options since you don't have dimming mirrors and selecting the tow mirror option.

The only thing that scares me remotely is your truck is a 14'. There are others having issues with their 14' trucks also. That being said, it was for the tilt in reverse. As far as I know there have been no problems with selecting any of the other mirror settings.

As far as the mirror running lights, I have been all over the car configuration and door modules seeing if I could find the setting for them. I'm pretty sure I have seen a Ram with running lights on their mirrors but maybe I am confusing it with another?

Side mirror used as repeaters did nothing for me, nor did another setting with repeaters and output or something like that.

Yeah, I've become somewhat disillusioned with them. They don't seem to pay too much attention to what you specify when you order. :)

I've changed the Tow Mirror Present option and the truck is sleeping now. I'm due to go out for dinner in a bit, I'll report back on the results. I did not touch the EC Mirror settings yet as it's not throwing any codes.

Any idea what the Blind Spot Mirror Present setting is for? The tow mirrors have them of course, but even on the factory tow mirrors they are manual adjust. I'm not sure what a BCM setting would do.

All the other options (power fold, puddle lights, turn signals) were already set by the Genie, I've left them alone for now. If I ever end up with the BCM reset I'll try enableing them with Alpha before I re-use the Genie, but short of recall work I doubt that will happen. Just as an FYI, I used the MY2013-17 BCM option. The only other one I saw that might logically apply would be the ">MY2013 var.2" I haven't looked at that yet to see if there is anything different about it.

Ford tow mirrors have it by default from what I've read and there's a guy on Facebook that sells wiring kits to do it on a RAM, but you have to tap into one of the wires going to the BCM. You may have seen someone with that installed. I think I recall seeing someone here or on "the other forum" who wired them direct rather than activating the sales code or BCM setting, but that gave him running only, no turn. Oh well, it looked like a likely option.

I thought the blind spot mirror setting was for the little light that comes on when another car is starting to pass, but I could be wrong. I have activated that one as well but it does nothing for me so I took it back off.

You would have to have those set for your tow mirrors as well. I believe the "tow mirror" setting enables the rotation correction? That is the correct BCM setting (MY2013-17). You will notice after it connects it'll tell you MY20XX (apply to your year).

That may have been what it was and not that I thought about it I watched a video on it before. He sells kits for like $20?

That is what I'm hoping. Things got busy tonight and I didn't get a chance to test if it worked. I'll check tomorrow.

Yeah, I think this is the guy: https://jhdlighting.bigcartel.com/

although there are at least two others I spotted selling what appears to be the same thing for $27 and $55, respectively.

You got the right guy. I purchased this wire kit a little while back and super easy install.

Has anybody figured out how to add the button to view the rearview camera while driving in the 2015s? I'm not sure it's possible but figured I'd ask.

I haven't found anything looking through the settings but it seems like some of the companies that sell rear camera retrofit kits have been able to add the button in the "Control" area in Uconnect.

I have a 2015 and I was able to get the soft buttons in the controls section of the screen. I had to activate both the reverse cam and the cargo cam to get them to appear. Reverse cam alone would not get me an icon. I can force the reverse cam in motion, but it cuts off between 5-10 mph.

With the cargo cam active, does it give you the soft button too or only for the rear cam?

I have both buttons, but the cargo cam screen is blank since I don't have a cargo cam. When I tried just the reverse cam settings it never gave me a soft button on the display.

@Ghost_RAM do you have a single soft key for just the rear cam or a soft key for the cargo cam as well? Any chance you could send me the output of the full settings from alpha so I can compare to my settings?

I had pretty much the same experience except for one difference.

About a month ago I installed a backup camera and activated it using a rented AutoEnginuity (AE) tool. I had set 5 settings with the AE tool. The camera worked properly with dynamic (active) grid lines BUT no icon on the CONTROL screen (see first photo).

With the release of the OBDLink MX and the Alpha OBD Program (and reading this thread) I got both of them. I checked the settings in the Alpha program and found a setting that was not listed in the AE menus. It was "TRAILER HITCH CAMERA". I marked that "SET" and got the backup camera icon on the CONTROL screen (see second photo)

Yesterday I installed the OEM CARGO CAMERA (using a custom harness by M2Mods-EXCELLENT!) and used the Alpha program to activate it. The Cargo camera now functions perfectly and now have the CARGO CAMERA icon on the CONTROL screen (see third photo).

Functionality wise, if I go to the CONTROL screen I can turn on either camera and that camera shows up with 2 small icons in the top left corner of the screen ( see photo 4). I can toggle between the 2 cameras using the 2 small icons in the left corner.

I did have one misstep, when I activated the CARGO camera I forgot to change the setting "LED CHMSL LAMP PRESENT" and of course got the "Brake Light Out" message on the EVIC. So I had to erase the DTC message. I did this by marking SET the "REAR LIGHTING DTC DISABLE" because:

"In order to prevent cluster fault messages and DTCs related to rear lighting, bulb out detection
can be disabled. For 2015 and later models, disabling bulb out detection will also eliminate any existing DTCs
and cluster fault messages that may have already occurred " (RAM UPFITTERS GUIDE)

So the Rear Lighting DTC Disable worked perfectly and cleared the DTC brake lamp out message. I then went back in and then UNSET the "Rear Lighting DTC Disable" (in other words back to the stock setting condition). Then set "LED CHMSL LAMP PRESENT" and now no lamp out message.

My 16’ came with a factory cam. The cargo cam soft key you see I added with Alfa by selecting the CHMSL CSM near the bottom.

Trailer Hitch Camera isn't an option in the 2015 Bedy Module it would seem. I saw your previous post on it and looked and looked.... Reverse cam and cargo cam are the only things I found.

I didn't find the option either. I wonder if the there's a newer BCM flash available.

Nearly all the way to the bottom. Just above fuel settings.

From what I understand, the year doesn't play into it as much, nor vehicle model. There are settings on there that none of our Rams have (maybe 19's?) like blindspot mirrors. That is not to say that if you got everything gathered and installed it wouldn't enable them.

The BCM's that come in the trucks basically have most all of the options of ANY Chrysler vehicle produced that particular year. That's why there's a setting in the BCM in our trucks for rear sliding door rear fog lights and blind spot mirrors and all kinds of other options that have never been on a Ram pickup that may have been an option on a ram cargo van or Dodge Caravan. The problem is the backup camera in motion was an option that Fiat didn't add until 2016 so the 2013, 14 and 15 trucks do not have that particular option in the BCM because it wasn't offered in vehicles until 2016.

Rick hit it. This is what I get on the screen in the controls section.

screen.jpg

It only displays the cargo camera, which I dont have. If I hit the button I get this.

screen2.jpg

I can then select the reverse cam and it'll come up on the screen just fine. It doesn't matter if I'm in reverse or not, but it does cut out in motion pretty quick.
