Soooo I just tried turning on the DRLs

I set all the values as described in the manual, turned the truck off in between each setting. I also have the correct settings showing in the log.
Right now nothing comes on when you put it in gear, is that the normal wait time and they will come on sooner or later or do I have to wait in between each step, as in: set the lights to on - wait an hour - change the DRL location - wait an hour etc???

I made all my changes one time, then reboot radio, pull battery cable, pull radio fuse or wait a day or so.

I waited starting working next night. Did a buddies, forced reboot worked instantly.

Both on 2015

Hope that helps

Make sure the parking brake is released.

yeah parking brake is off, but thanks for the reminder…

alright guess I'll have to wait and see what happens.

haven't done a reboot, yet.. is that necessary? When the correct values show in the log, does it mean the BCM "took" the changes? Sorry these questions probably have been asked a million times but I tried reading through this thread and the sheer number of comments is kinda overwhelming haha

Update: rebooting did nothing - I held down the two knobs till it restarted - or is there another reboot process?

otherwise I'll wait and see

Go back through the settings and make sure everything took. It's not uncommon for one thing to not take. It can take up to 24 hour's for it to show up in the radio but shouldn't effect the drl's being active

The onscreen buttons.

The physical buttons are the one's on the bezel

But it should be able to add this functionality on a 16 even though the cargo cam was not released until 18?

As 1500ram12 stated go through he settings and confirm they all took. My 15 worked almost immediately (DRLs). I had the key in RUN (engine off) when I made the changes. The radio setting showed up in the 5.0 and is now on the 8.4 not that I plan to shut off the DRLs.

Exact same thing with my '14. And I've changed their location several times, each time the change took immediately.

The Cargo Cam was an option from 2013 on. This is a pic of my Cargo Cam in my 16 radio installed in my 14 Ram

Very nice! Do you know if you can use the Cargo Cam to work with a front camera instead? I plan on doing what you have in my 15 upgrade the 5.0 to the 8.4 but add a front cam instead of a cargo one. Sure love that big screen!

@kad didn’t you do the front cam or was it someone else with the cargo cam input

So the DRLs are still not coming on. All the settings are in place

DRL Configuration: Optional DRL - was like that from the factory
DRL Lamp Location: Dedicated - factory setting was "none"
DRL Dropout Enable: Set - was set from the factory

Some other settings I noticed could be an issue were:

CBC-Features - LED Dedicated DRL Present: Not set
ECU Qualification: Control-Dedicated DRL: No

Do I have to change these as well?

Edit: I'll try setting the DRL to the fogs and see if that works, I believe the ECU qualification setting tells the truck it can't turn on the dedicated lights

on another note, it apparently took the LED reverse light setting as the lamp out message was gone today, so I'm doing something right, haha

Did you set the (Daytime Running Lights) in the CSM menu? They are usually set to on when you enable the other codes but you didn't list it as one if the codes you had set so thought I would ask. 1670ec690582517546fd3147fa6aa89e.jpg

These are what your settings should be that have to do with DRLs:
DRL configuration >optional
DRL lamp location > dedicated
DRL dropout enabled > yes
CBC I/O right dedicated DRL lamp output present> yes
CBC I/O left dedicated DRL lamp output present > yes
LED dedicated DRL present> yes
ECUConfig 3 DRL customer setting enable> yes
CustSetMenu 1 daytime running lights CSM> yes

Thought I had seen it being set to on but just checked the log again and you're right, this is currently not set. Thanks, that might do the trick!
