Trying to figure out what tires to get. 285/70r17 too big. OE is 265/70r17. Recently added 2 in leveling kit to front of truck. Can't afford to buy new wheels so trying to figure out what a good size without looking ridiculous on stock rims. Any advice would be appreciated!

Asking if 285/70r17 tires are too large.

You'll have no problems with 285/70/17 on your truck, lots of people upsize to those. They're actually similar in diameter to the stock 20" tire that came stock on the Gen4 trucks.

If you have a 2 inch level the 285/70R17 will easily fit. I have LT275/65R20 on mine with a 2 inch level and they fit without any issue. The 275/65R20 are an inch and a half taller and a half inch narrower than 285/70R17.

Will it affect my speedometer enough to address it?
The speedo will be off by 3.5% so when going 70 mph per the speedo you'll actually be moving 72.5 mph. Same goes for mileage. The speedo can be adjusted using AlfaOBD.

Well I've noticed that most 285/70r17 tires recommend at least a 7.5in wide rim...I believe my factory rims are only 7in wide. Has anyone ran into this? And will it affect the tires if I go ahead on same rim?

Im currently Running 285/70R17 K02's on my stock 17's with no level kit, they rub the slightest bit when im turning full lock to either side.

When I have my TT on the back, the front is pulled up to level and they don't rub at all.

I will be running bigger tires on the stock 17's after I get my RC levelling struts in the front

The WHEELS are an inch and a half taller but I bet the tires after mounting aren't an inch taller. The 17" tires will have more sidewall making the ride smoother than the 20".

Not sure how that answers the OP question but you’re more than welcome to come on over and measure my LT275/65R20.
