I've had my brand new 2015 Ram Pentastar for about 2 months and have approximately 1,550 on the odo. I'm wanting to get the factory oil out and replace it with Mobil 1 full synthetic. Am I jumping the gun on this oil change or is it a piece of mind matter? Also, what oil filter is everyone else running on their pentas?

You can do it whenever you want. You don't have th do it that early. I run the Pennzoil platinum in mine. I changed mine at 2200 the first time.

Nothing wrong with following the Owners Manual.

But, if doing something above/beyond that makes ya feel good, I guess there is some value in that,,,

It's another one of those 'what's your preference?' subjects, with everyone having their own 'feel good' zone.

So,,,, 'use/do whatever makes you feel good' would be my advice.

Does RP make a filter for the 3.6?
Not saying RP is either good or bad, but the OP has a 3.6 with a open-element cartridge filter.
(Actually, I'm hoping more and more engines come with top mounted open element filters,,, That, and a Fumoto would dang near make oil changes a 'no muss, no fuss' kinda procedure!)

I would change it now but wait until after another conv oil change to put in synthetic unless those cute little motors come with syn already.

What's the reasoning behind another Conv oil? I do believe if I've read correctly that they come with syn from the dealership but who knows.

He can run full synthetic in it now. My.v6.in the Durango didn't come with synthetic in it. I run conventional in it. And that filter is sweet to change. 24mm socket I believe and it's no mess and simple.

People can do what they wish but it is still breaking in. I typically wait until 5k to change mine over to synthetic but I am not sure if I will with the ticking issues on the Hemi. Factory fill is non-syn from what I can find.
