Hi Guys,

Nice to meet you all. First time I'll buy a truck in my life, so I'm really new to this world LOL. I've decided to buy a 2019 Ram over any F-150. I'm leaning towards a Rebel since I like the more sporty look and interior but I'll really love to have the 12" screen. Since the Rebel is not available with this screen, is it posible or have your heard, to swap the 8" screen with the 12" screen? It seems like it will be posible but don't know if anyone tried it or will the wiring and functions will all be same.

Also, what upgrades have you done to the speakers? I tried the 19 speaker options but I'm not impressed with how it sounds.

I'll really appreciate your response on the matter.

Thanks !

No one has done it yet as far as I know. With the issues that the 12” seems to have, I’d be weary to even try it. Let’s say you did complete the swap, who do you turn to to get updates when bugs are found? Like real bugs, the ones that render your system useless. The aftermarket is probably a couple years away on tackling that beast.

One person has done it, I have asked him to post a thread on it but I don’t think he did. There were a few issues, but nothing major IIRC. I think a few buttons on the side didn’t work, but the steering wheel controls functioned fine for them.

I guess he hasn't posted a thread on some other forum either?

Issues with the 12"? What issues? Just bought my first Ram and it has the 12". Love it so far but "what issues?"

if you can hold tight there is a "Rebel 12" coming that gives you the Rebel capabilities with the more refined interior options of the higher trim level trucks including the 12 inch screen.

Sorry for the late reply. I did the swap in my Laramie that originally had the 8.4 with Nav. When I first swapped in the 12” screen, it was blank. I then swapped out my radio module with the one that came with the 12” screen and everything powered on. Everything works except, the volume knob, tuning knob and the screen blank button. Pushing the volume knob will still turn off the unit though. The steering wheel volume buttons still work and the on screen radio controls also work. I haven’t been able to get updated software to flash the 12” to see if that would make the knobs work or not.
