Hey guys,

I did this swap yesterday to a black edition 8 speed reg cab express 4x4 with the 5.7, but i am having small issues. It had the evic cluster 3.5" in it.

The top left small gauge that has the battery symbol seems to be functioning off of the engine temp. At startup the gauge is all the way left, after the truck warms up the gauge is in the middle. The bottom small gauge that should be the engine temp is staying all the way to the left. Also my RPM's are reading a touch high. Usually i turn around 1600 on the interstate at 70, I am now turning 2000.

Is it possible that I got a v-6 cluster and they aren't fully compatible? Aside from the three issues above everything else works perfect. I can live with it, but if someone knows how to fix it that would be great.

I have looked at wiring diagrams all morning and the best I can tell all the gauges are told what to do by a two wire can bus input on pins 12 and 13. I honestly dont understand how all the gauges could be fed by two wires..

Any thoughts are appreciated. If the high jack is a problem I will start my own thread but I figured it would be good for this to be in with this thread in case a solution is figured out if this happens to someone else.

I figured how to fix the oddities today. I took pics as i went, but i probably don't have enough posts to put up pics. Basicly what i did was crack open the cluster and carefully cut out the two gauges that needed it, and swapped them around, then glued back in there correct spots. I got the idea when googling and found the decal cluster overlays. When i realized that the gauges are stickers it was game on. Also the rpms was not going down to 0 with the key off, while the cluster was open i pulled the rpm needle and placed back into the 0 position for the fix. I assume it got jarred off during shipping.

If some one needs a write up i will post it up but someone may have to place the pics in for me because of my post count.

I wasn't aware of a post requirement to put up pictures?

You may be right, i didnt even try. Every forum i have been a part of you must have "x" number of posts before putting up pics. I will post up the pics showing what i did when i get home this evening.

Will a cluster from a 2011 sport work with my 2011 SLT? And will the screen and everything work as it should ?

I am not sure. If the plug ins in the back are the same i would think the chances are very high that it may work. If the plugs are different i wouldn't attempt it.

I am going to show what I did as promised to fix the improper gauges. You have to be extremely lucky to be the only one that this **** was not plug and play for.

I am going to skip to where the cluster is on the bench and opened up as its very self explanatory up to that point.
Plexi glass plate removed:

Cluster face with the needles off. I used a fork and gently lifted them straight up. Please Note the top left small gauge is showing amps and the bottom left is showing coolant temp:

I took an exacto knife and cut out the gauges i wanted to swap:

I then just glued them back down where I wanted them. Be sure to keep the glue off the part of the gauge face that the light shines thru. I also checked that the plexi glass circles would hide my cuts before I glued them down permanently:

Just make sure all your needles are pointing to the correct spots before popping the plexiglass cluster back over the gauges. I then reinstalled the cluster and now all is great:

Cluster installed and looking awesome:

I am not very good at explaining myself so if there are any questions just ask.

Man I hope someone chimes in on the 6.7 gauges. I went and talk with the dealer today and got Part #: 56054947AF which is the Laramie evic cluster. Went and talked with service guy and they were kind of confused, said it would cost about 2hrs for them to swap and whatever. Makes sense if I order through them they will send off to a certified adjuster to switch/flash to current cluster and all should be good for a diy on my part

Not for 09-12. You either had the no-evic cluster or the one with it. No premium one like mine.

Think I'm going to open mine up and paint mine tonight. Or attempt to.
