My 3500 is overheating when towing my 12,000 GVW toy hauler over the mountain passes of Colorado. Trans temp and engine temp climb to overlimits so I have to pull over and let it cool to get it below overheating temps; drive another few miles pull over again; and repeat.
My mechanic says I need to replace the fan clutch (without looking at vehicle - ya it pissed me off) but I'm not so sure. What is the correct process for me to check the fan clutch operation? Thanks in advance
