The starter in my 2006 Ram 1500 Hemi wouldn't crank if I tried to start it shortly after shutting it down. However if It sat long enough, it cranked normally. Yesterday I found the bolt holding the negative battery cable to the engine was backed almost completely out. Not sure who left it that way. I wish I would have checked that first, but I finally figured out it was a grounding problem after connecting a battery jumper cable from the negative battery terminal to the starter housing, and it started every time.
