2009 ram 2500 4x4 problems please help

Hi guys new to the forum I just got a 2009 ram 2500 hd quad cab and I noticed a problem with the 4x4 when I put the truck in 4hi it goes in fine light goes on fine but when I drive it makes a loud squawking clicking noise then I put it back in 2wd and its fine but some times I have to reverse a cuple feet to get it back in 2wd the noise sounds like its coming from the front end can it be a cv joint

Sounds like a U joint on the front drive shaft I don't think a 2500 has a CV joint but rather U joints on the axle and on the drive shaft has more. I certainly don't know for sure though. Someone can chime in to confirm or deny what I am saying.
