Me too. Sux. Like I said same issue for me, but it literally happened directly after the shorties were installed so hoping its not a lifter.

From what I've read in here and other sources they corrected the problem in '16 and newer, at least they think they did

why hasn't this been a recall with the lifter and cam?
so many people are having issues with this. $4,500 to spend to fix a "known issue" in a motor with 79,000 is ridiculous. Google the issue thousands of owners are having this issue.
I customer spends $40,000+ on your product i think the expectation of getting more than 80,000 should be high. But I am pretty sure Ram will do nothing to help out its customers because no has been injured because of it. What make a Great company is helping out and doing the right thing before BIG BROTHER tells you to.
That's my rant. I will definitelyram.JPG never buy another Ram to take the chance it MIGHT be fixed!

Unfortunately with what is expected out of these engines through CAFE this is what happens. They need to squeeze out as much power as possible to make customers happy while squeezing out efficiency while using thin oil through tiny clearances. Ford's F150 is having issues burning oil, dropping valves and if you think Hemi's are loud you should listen to the latest 5.0. Chevy's 5.3 and 6.2 are having similar issues to us, although theirs seems more widespread.
Honestly, and this is why I own this truck, the 5.7 seems like the most reliable V8 choice on the market right now. Every engine is a crapshoot though, at least we're not dealing with CVTs like the Japanese car guys are, I've heard horror stories from them that make our lifters seem like a cakewalk.

There is a petition on the other site, the list of roller failure complaints exponentially grows as these trucks reach the critical 75-150k mile marks. Stay away from extended idle when your oil pressure dips deep into the 30s and sometimes 20s, especially on a long OCI. First thing an experienced custom tuner will do is increase idle rpm to get hot oil pressure near 50 psi.

2016 was the year the lifter supplier was changed, most are finding hellcat lifters easier to come by from performance upgrades as they are more stout in key features.
