Thanks! Tomorrow I'll attempt to figure out which wires I need to tap into for the Line Output Converter and I'll try to run the 12v Accessory wire as well. Once I get that done, I'll do a quick test run with my amp and a sub. I should receive the fiberglass resin and other materials either late tomorrow or sometime Friday. Then the fun begins.

The new DC 10" level 2 sub should be in the process of being built and will hopefully ship next week. Hopefully just as I finish up the fiberglass enclosure!

Whoo Hooo! My fiberglass resin and materials are "out for delivery" problem is, UPS doesn't make it to my house until about 6 PM. It might be too dark by then to start glassing. I'll run the accessory wire and other ground wire today and test the system. Then I'll finish off with a beer night! As of 6:30am this morning, it's my weekend!

Well, after running my wires and believing that everything was set, I tried to mount my amp and ran into some placement problems. I ended up finding a good spot, but need to move some of the wires. I have it all done now and I tested it with my amp and an old 12" sub. It works great.

So on to more pics of the install and fiberglass. I only got one layer put down today.

Power and Ground wires are set.

Is it going to be permanent?

No, it won't be permanant. I put the blue painters tape down first to not ruin the carpeting, but it will help me remove it after it cures. The enclosure will be removable and all factory parts will be replaceable like it never happened.

So I just added about 3 more layers. I'll wait for that to cure for a while then I'll take it out of the truck and it'll have enough rigidity to keep its form and allow me to work on it outside of the truck.

Got my new sub in today. That's a great surprise because I was expecting it until Monday or Tuesday!

To me, the factory Alpine upgrade on my 2013 CC sounds great with the sub under the passenger rear seat. I think it has 9 speakers. I would assume your setup will sound better but I'm happy with mine.

Looks like a fun project though!!

Update: I need some more materials that I couldn't get today since it is Sunday and the stores I need to go to are closed. Tomorrow, I will try to get those items and hopefully have the speaker installed by Wednesday.

Pulled the base piece out and trimmed it to the size I wanted.

Cut a piece of 3/4" MDF to fit over it.

I still have some gaps to fill and that where the Kitty Hair (reinforced fiberglass/bondo) will come into play. Then some more touch up fiberglass work. Then comes sanding and minor touch ups and I should be ready to install the sub.

Still have some clearance room for the sub to move. Barely gonna make the minimum recommended sealed airspace that is required.
