2014 Ram 5.7 This Is What A Bad Roller On A Lifter Sounds Like.

Not bad at all took me 2 days worst part was cleaning up the cylinder heads and getting the broken bolts out had 4 broken flush and warped manifolds.

Well that sucks, did you get new manifolds or have the old ones resurfaced?

Re surfaced I have a belt sander from harbor freight that I use to flatten them.

Seems like Ram is batting close to 1,000 on the broken bolt/warped manifold issue.

Did you replace all the lifters?

yep new cam new lifters.

Ahhhhh, that sounds nice. All I hear now is normal injector noise.
Good job. Mine still taps even after new cam/lifters, but imma drove it like I stole it and if anything breaks I'll just drop a 6.4 in

Good old No Name brand oven cleaner works good for cleaning up heads and loosening up the carbon so a wire wheel will clean up the chambers

Believe it or not wd40 for carbon let it sit hit with wheel comes right off found that out by accident one time been doing it ever since.

That works,but if you hunt up the cheap no name brand oven cleaner with the hand symbol,it's still a caustic based oven cleaner,very similiar to what's used in a hot tank.Just don't breath the crap if you can avoid it,lol.

Started tearing it down today noticed this truck has active grill shutters do you guys normally keep them? or delete it.

I deleted mine to install a intercooler Junk plastic
