Anothher thing I noticed today when i first fire it up for the first 1-2 mins of running the trans makes like a humming/growling almost like a low power steering pump then goes away once it warms up a little. Is it normal for 8 speeds to make any noise? I have yet to drive the truck as im waiting on dmv.

I've got (2) 8 speeds ,and neither make any noise when starting, even after sitting all winter with the batteries disconnected. The 8 speed seems to be a bit tempermental to fluid level, even a 1/2 litre down will affect them,so you might want to jack the rear tires up in the air roughly 8 or 9 inches to level the pan rail and check the fluid level.

After you've did it a few times it's not as bad as it sounds, lol. The days of dipsticks seems to be going by the wayside that's for sure.

If you replaced the condensor, you'll probably want to check the fluid level again after you've went for a drive and got the transmission up to temperature. The transmissions thermostat needs to open and circulate fluid through the cooler/condensor.,before you do a final fluid level check

I assume best fluid to use is 68218925AB Mopar? or do people usually use another brand?
