Finally got the truck back. All lifters failed. Including the once I had replaced a year ago. And the cam shaft was destroyed

He said the lifters were damaged but couldn't explain the cam
I don't think there's a scenario on a hemi where bad lifters won't damage the cam over time.

Was that really wallowed out cam lobe your problematic cylinder?

Just curious what oil change interval you followed and what weight oil you used.

No that's the crazy part it wasn't the misfiring cylinder. I did 5k with deal recommended. From now on I'll be following the oil recommendations from the forum

That is something that that really hogged out lobe wasn't even the suspect cylinder!!

I do 5000 mile OCI's with my 2019 classic hemi and use synthetic 5w30 if that makes a difference I dunno. I also add a bottle of MoS2 or Lubeguard biotech if I'm feeling so inclined. Again.. no idea if that's going to do anything at all that's beneficial.

I also have a filter cutter and examine every used oil filter. I'd like to think I'd see glitter if some metal hogging madness was going on.

Thanks for the info! Ya going to use Lucas additive at each oil change. I had the oil changed 200 miles ago and nothing in it. Which was even more bizarre.

On the cam #8 which was the problem cylinder barely showed wear
