Replaced my cam, lifter, and pushrods
Oem lifters
Melling camshaft and pushrods

Got it all back together and now I'm still experiencing a tick at idle and until I get past 30 psi oil pressure and continues till I get to a constant speed and the truck goes quiet like it should. But when I accerate it starts agian and when it drops below.

I'm trying the lubeguard with 5w-30 with it being cold outside only about 50 miles with it so far and still hearing it.

Replaced due to have a bad tick ended up being a collapsed mds lifter.

What brand of lifters did you install in this motor?

I know you said you have put about 50 miles on it but how long have you actually let it run?

Number one issue after cam/lifter job is push rods being bent again. Did you read cam bible thread? If they are bent, it will likely get worse. I don't know the % but it is very high as to how often the is happens. Don't know why so many fall out of cup, the newest example last week the op thought it was bolt torque issue.

You had a mis fire code before cam job?

I didn't even check before I did it. I just knew it was the lifter after I replaced the manifolds.

I'll check the pushrods just in case

I am around 18K after CAM/LIFTER replacement by Dodge. I had the tick bad enough the check engine light came on and misfire code. After the cam/lifter swap, the tick was pretty soft (barely noticeable), then it got a little louder (started suspecting a manifold gasket again but they look ok), now getting a fairly pronounced tick / tapping on cold start and for a few minutes after. Not sure, but is starting to sound a bit like the old lifter tick that took 4000 miles until the check engine light came on last time. I have Maxicare Lifetime so nothing to do but wait.
