I have a 2018 ram 1500 quad cab 4x4 5.7 hemi. 17in rims. The truck has had a shake in the seats, center console, doors, floor boards, and some in the stearing wheel since it was new. Been to the dealer 6 times. Roatated, balanced the tires multiple times. Reaplaced tires twice. Front end alignment Rios. Still no change. The vibration is worst 55 on up. I believe it's coming from either the drive shaft or the rear end. Any one have this problem or any fix. Thanks. (The dealer gave up said it drives as designed.)

Interesting...I have a 2018 Express Reg Cab and am having vibration issues above 60 mph. The whole interior shakes and really gets unstable over 75. Only 4500 miles on the truck, so I haven't taken it in for any service yet, but it's on my list of things to be checked out. Anyone else with these problems?...and any solutions? Thanks

I hope you have documentation on the dealer's conclusion. I'd recommend that you contact @RamCares here on the forum to see if you can get some assistance and perhaps direction on what to do. Shaking is not the design of these trucks.

Had the same problem on my 2018, same dealer reply as OP on the shake. Took it to Discount Tire and had them road force balance the tires. 3 out of 4 Goodyear's were defective at 120 miles and replaced under warranty with a slightly better Goodyear for $5 a tire, no more shake. Force balance is the only way to go and "drive's as designed" is the same ******** that my dealer told me. WRONG!!!!

Did they check each of the wheels without tires first to make sure they were straight? Bent rims are uncommon but it does happen. Also if the rims are nice and straight you might want to consider having them Road force balanced instead of spin balanced. Another thing I've seen with RAM factory wheels is that the center hole is an odd size and some tire places don't have the correct adapter to mount it to the balancer which can affect the balance job although you would think this wouldn't be an issue with the dealer. Last but not least you could push them to get you a set of Michelin tires which will require a lot less weights to balance correctly. It's not uncommon to have as much as 5-6 oz of weights on a Goodyear tire which speaks volumes about the lack of quality in Goodyear tires.

Discount Tire stepped right up and called Goodyear while I stood there. Any large tire dealer that has a working relationship with Goodyear can handle it if that's the brand tire you have. I got 4 new upgrade tires for $20 the next day. Part of the force balance is to check the run out of the rim to make sure that everything is good to start with.

I just noticed that you have an RCSB too. I think our trucks are more critical about the rear tires being really close to perfect due to the short wheel base and being a few hundred pounds lighter in the rear.

^^^^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^^^^^[

Two bent rims from new on my 2016. Took them to a place that straightens and repairs cast wheels and got them straightened, then mounted and road force balanced the crappy Goodyear tires. Eliminated all but the Goodyear shake, which will disappear when Michelins go on sale at my local tire store. I have put up with the Goodyears for over 36k miles and they are toast anyway, tread-wise.

Best,
DG

Yes I have documentation for all service visits. The set of tires I have now are hankook dyna pro atm put on and coverd under warranty at dealer. I had a case through ram. The service techs were pretty good at the dealer but the service manager just didn't want to do anything the techs recamended. Like swapping out the drive shaft. I have not yet had the tires road forced yet. I would like to find a good place to get that done. Does any one notice an increase in the shaking when towing, especially with some tounge weight? Thanks for the input.

Personally I would ask them for a different brand as those are still kind of considered budget tires. Also its a lot harder to get a good balance with A/T tires especially if they are LT's.

A few weeks ago there was a thread on here about vibration issues that were manifesting themselves more in the seats and floorboards versus the the steering wheel. Somebody will chime in that remembers better than me, but it was a batch of bad/unbalanced driveshafts, there may have been a specific range of VIN’s it affected, but the back story to that OP was very similar to what you were describing above.

Yes I do regret not getting michelin tires. Maybe road force balancing will help the current tires. I'm just not convinced it's a tire issue. But maybe.

Had that with my 2013 Big Horn they did road force balance and Goodyear tires defective. Went to Goodyear tire Shop the dealer will have nothing to do with tire warranty it states that in the owners book you get but anyway they replaced all four tires and one of the four they got to put on my truck was no good new from factory I don't like Goodyear tires any more next set will be another brand that's for dame sure.So after 4 times and countless hours I got my truck to ride normal but be persistence don't give up you paid a lot and want it perfect despite what some meat head in the dealer tells you. at the time truck was brand new less then 1000 miles on it

Yes thundermug95. The floor boards and back of seat are the worst. I just went on a 200 mile trip over the weekend and when I got out of the truck it felt like my feet were still shaking...

The above may or may not be what I was looking for...but it allegedly affects more years...also could be movement at the transfer case...not trying to give you a bunch of white rabbits to chase, but it struck me as similar
