I have a 2100 ram with a 6.7L engine.
My speed can vary up to 3mph going up hills.
Is there any way short of a tuner to make the control more sensitive?

Back from the future Doc?... LOL
How many miles on the truck? How fast is the cruise set when this happens? How big are the hills?

Mine hold within 2 or 3 and I think that's sensitive enough. Any closer and it would be shifting constantly.
It needs some wiggle room.

Pull the gears down manually so it is in the right torque range just before you start the uphill. It will hold closer to your set speed.

You probably have to do that with a gasser, a diesel will just build more boost and climb away. The OP's 6.7 is making more torque just above idle than your 6.4 maxes out at. The 6.4 would probably drop two gears before the CTD would even need to consider dropping one.

I have owned diesels, well aware of how they work. The fact remains, diesels have a torque band too where they are happiest. If he is trying to hold the same speed, it will do that better in the middle of the torque band than at the bottom of it.

Thank you for your replies. I've increased the set speed and lowered the gear. These both help. I thought if there was a way to narrow the "wiggle room" I could get away from messing with it, but I guess not.
