so I'm putting on my 35-12.5 mud grapplers and was wondering who else is running 35 inch tires and 3.55 rear end gears and how you like it?

That's what I'm running on mine. You'll notice a bit of a power loss obviously because they are a bit taller, but I think mainly because they are so much heavier than the stock tires. It'll want to kick down more on hills than before. But I've gotten used to it. I'd love to go with 37's but not until I change gears. Mine is a 6 speed trans.

It wasn't to bad, but you'll have to put more gas into passing people on the freeway

yeah i have the 6 speed tranny and will be doing a 3000 rpm tc and gears but not sure when ill be doing that. just sold my 05 ram hemi with 3.55 and someone told me it was my tires killing my tranny but i think it was the constant burn outs with stock tires haha

I run 35x12.5 on 3.55s and my truck runs screams.. matter of fact beat the same raptor twice by at least a length... Now my city mpg is 12 at best and 18-19 highway

Didn't notice too much on 3.21s.

Depends on transmission how much it will bog down. 8 speed it is probably not too bad. With the 5 speed I was not a fan.

This!!!

That's an 81 pound Tire!!! LOL! (without the rim)

I have 3.55's and 32" tall 305/50R20 AT tires that only weigh 50lbs and it sucks ass!
(with stock OEM 20's I'm at about 83 pounds per corner)

I needed to run little 28" drag radials on light 17" wheels to get half decent performance at the track

Adding an extra 200HP with a supercharger helped a lot,
but only until I started roasting transmissions. (4 of them in one year)

If you have a 6 speed you need a re-gear to 4.10's or better yet 4.56's

With an 8 speed you could probably just get by,
really good low end ratio in the first three gears.

Makes sense they are trying to make the stickers look good so they gear most with 3.21 and 3.55 which just seems to be all about mileage not enjoyability or towing. I don't think you save much with too high of gears the transmission is always hunting anyway.

I have 35 1/2" Trailgrapplers, 3.55s and a Hemi.

I did notice a hit to performance, but its not bad. It drives the way I used to expect a truck to drive, prior to driving a 4G ram.

I'd say its fine if you wont be towing anything around. My MPG sucks balls now, but im not sure how much of that is related to the gearing

I have 45 000 Kms with 35-12.5-20s no complaints looking for a donor front diff to do a gear swap to go to 37s so I can then install my bilsteins at 2.1 inches. But currently my 7.25 inch lift is as high as I can go in my opinion before installing 37s... Bilsteins will have to sit on the shelf in my garage Untill then.

I have 37s and 3.92 gears, and a 6 speed trans, its kinda sluggish, definitely can feel a difference as opposed to the stock wheels and tires

35x12.5... 3.55 gears 6 speed and hemi.. And I gotta say I feel a huge difference between my 2013 with same gears motor and trans. stock tires on slightly lighter wheels compared to my 2014 I have now. Mileage is terrible and power loss is very noticable. But as stated above.. The truck now drives like a truck is expected to..not a sports car with a 6.5ft bed attached to the back lol. Sometimes I miss it but one plus.. I never feel the urge to go blast my truck down the track anymore lol kinda scared of what numbers might appear on that board a quarter mile down the track!

From what I have now (3.55) Is there a better gearing option that would help get this thing rolling a little easier as well as maybe pick up a mpg or two? Or are the other options out there a choice between one or the other?

I have 37's with 3.55 gears. Does pretty good for me.

What!!??? Really no programmer or mods? I have been told by everyone to stay far away from 37's with 3.55 gears. They said even with hemi it would be a total dog and be super hard on trans

A tuner is no replacement for a gear swap. It'll be a dog for sure with 35s and 3.55, even more so with 37s.
