I recently traded in my challenger for a 2015 ram 4x4 big horn an I'm planning on a 6" lift. My question is are any of you running 37s with the 3.21 gears on the 8speed trans? I do know one guy that's running them an hasn't re geared it an says its fine but that seems like a little much for it. I would like to hear yals opinions an experience with 3.21 gears an bigger than stock tires.

Nope, it won't turn a wheel. Put on a 6", max some bilsteins, 3"bl and run some 33's. I don't really know, I have 37s with 3.55s and of course it slugs it a little, but what are you gonna be doing with it?

Yea yea I know its a reoccurring subject just like one of those "which oil is the best" or "which muffler do you prefer" lol. I've read through a ton of threads an I'd like see what kinda problems people have run into with these gears an the 8 speed.

I definitely wouldn't do it... 35's with 3.92's is bad enough lol

Can you do it? Yes.

Will guys with lifted trucks tell you go for it? Probably not the majority and they'd only be telling you don't do it cause their lookin out for ya. Including myself.
I'm sure if you end up doin it anyways despite everyone telling you don't, I'm sure you'll be fine......for a while.

Thats kinda what I figured. I make good money now but I plan on being a state trooper in the next 2 years which is a huge pay cut so I need to make sure whatever I do will be done right and be reliable down the road.

People say it doesn't and post their pics on here which doesn't really give you a good idea imo. See if you can find one in person on 35s and one on 37s. After seeing them in person it's a pretty easy decision if you ask me.

6 " lift and 35s looks fine , not a small tire look at all , my .02

As far as 321 gears and an 8 speed xsmn , IT WILL BE FINE !

Back in the day we all had 100+ HP less , bigger damned tires with steel wheels and most didn't even know what gears they had or what would be considered optimal. ....

Ifs and 37"s = bad idea .. even re gearing and upgrading parts will make it last a little longer but that is a lot of weight.. 35"s will look good and should be ok. I destroyed a ifs 1/2 ton on 33"s.. but my trucks arnt payvement princess"s.
