okay I found a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 rear axle and I was wondering if it would bolt up in my 96 Dodge Ram because I would like the disc brake option on the back and I can get the axle for $115

Have to check the leaf spring spacing and your brake proportioning will be off.

Either see if you can install a proportioning valve from a 3rd gen truck or get an adjustable.

I don't think you have the ABS stuff, I would look at an adjustable proportion valve. There are conversion kits but hey in the $600 range and you would still need a proportion valve.

Cool thing about an adjustable proportioning valve is you can tailor it exactly to your load condition (empty, full, etc).
