If it were me, I wouldn't go with low pro woofers unless I had to.

And in all actuality, if you were to start replacing speakers in the door/dash (Do you get the awesome headliner ones?) and throwing an amp on them you might find that's all you need. Course, who am I to say anything? I had over 3000 watts of audio in my 1997 RC....

Look into Hertz, Polk, and Infinity.

I don't have much space behind the seats(12" deep at bottom and 6" at top) and low pro ones seem to be the only ones that fit in the space. I'd hate to start replacing the alpine speakers already though, and I'll check if I have the headliner ones. I'll look into those brands, thanks

To the best of my knowledge, they are still paper which means that damn near anything you replace them with will be an improvement.

Hertz brand is my favorite right now, but you best have a high budget for their stuff. Polk can be a decent mid range price point though.

And I would be shocked if you had the headliner speakers honestly.

I'll look at speakers. I would be surprised too, never heard of such a thing. What did you have in your other truck?

I've seen your system on another forum and somebody posted pictures in here. Do you have your system up and running? Do you think with our limited space that the factory alpine 10 and 2 12s behind the seats would be good?

I'll be honest, I don't know of any factory subwoofer in a regular cab (except for the SRT-10).

I'd definitely like to see pics if yours has one.

Yes sir, Alpine 7 speaker 506 watt factory upgrade. I know them front midbasses hit like a mother for a factory system, but mine didn't come with a subwoofer.

I've had one other R/T owner ask me about it... that's why I'd really like to see it.

I don't remember where I read about the factory 10, but I can't find the article anymore. The midbasses do a pretty good job cause my truck will be shaking if I have my stereo up all the way

Well I don't think the regular cab has a 10 in the console, sorry for confusion. Do you think there's enough room in the console to fit a 10?

Also what are the specs on your subs and boxes?

Hey no worries man, those midbasses put out some rumble for sure, definitely sounds like a subwoofer in there somewhere.

After tearing apart that console, I am sure a shallow mount 10 could be done, but it would be a major pain in the butt.

I'm using a JL Audio 10W6V2, they recommend .65 cu.ft. sealed and .75 ported tuned to 37.1Hz, I initially built an enclosure at .76 cu.ft tuned to 36Hz, but now I am looking at a .9 cu.ft. sealed enclosure. This gets that magic QTC number of 0.7 - problem is aiming. I have it downfiring now, which in any quad cab is the way to go. But in a regular cab, the reflections aren't working out as a benefit, and I believe there is some cancellation going on. Still playing around with which way the sub is going to be aimed in order to optimize the bass and still get that dashboard sound stage.

Dang, didn't know it was that complicated. I thought I could just order some subs that fix with boxes and an amp and install them. I've been looking at what companies have used for the challengers behind the wheel well, what they've used for under the seat of the 4 door rams, or other vehicles with similar space. I found a box for a 15 sub that would fit, but I'm not sure what 15 sub that box was made for and if it would even sound good

Honestly, it's usually not this complicated. I make it complicated by demanding high fidelity sound from one of the worst possible environments for producing it.

There is BARELY enough room for two 15" subs, one behind each seat. But it can be done with the storage tray taken out.

One 15" mounted behind the center console would rock the cab pretty hardcore.

Oh ok. !5s would hit hard. My friend's mom has a crew cab with the 2 subs under the back seat and gets a lot of bass. What do I look at to determine the bass? Cause I've heard of some 12s that hit harder than 15s, but I don't know what numbers to look at to figure this out for other subs

I've heard 8's that hit harder than 15's - depends on the environment, application, and driver being used.

Two 12" would absolutely slam in the regular cab. I've experimented with "corner" loading the subs (basically just turn them so they face the corner of the cab) and the bass output is some of the strongest I've ever heard. That was from a 10" though... a 12" might be a bit more difficult to load off any surface other than the rear cab wall.
