Hello friends,
I am here once again to ask for some insight. I have noticed my 8 speed trans seems to get hot from time to time. Nothing near 220 but I seen it close to 210, when unloaded. I rebuilt the rear end not to long ago, Pinon and bearings because there was a small whurling sound, which now has gone away because of it.
I do have 37x12.50x20 tires, 6in lift and I'm wondering is there anything I can do to keep it cooler. My trans shifts good and I don't have any wild crazy issues that I have seen other individuals have.
What is the normal operating temprature for this unit? I have seen mixed reviews. Some say between 190-220 is fine. Then I see others say anything above 190 is terrible and should not happen. I have seen the chart that states the viscosity breakdown over 220.
Any insight is helpul.
