2015 RAM 1500 SLT was a Enterprise rental. Picked up with 19k on the clock in 2016
Did all RAM's come with the basic horn alarm? The one that would beep the horn if you set it and opened door with say the key vs FOB! Do not really need it where I live but do travel to Ct. so would be nice to have... Not really wanting to install a real after market alarm. Dealer looked at me like I had 2 heads when I asked about it !
Anyway I can check ? I do have my build sheet but that is no help
Is there a code for it ?
Since it was a rental was it not included ?

Not sure if all came with all, but in the settings you can turn off the beep with locking doors and with remote start. So look through the settings to turn it back on.

Thanks for replying but as usual I do not explain thing s well lol. I g=do know about the setting to beep horn when locking ! But I was meaning if I lock my truck, and someone opens the door w/o the FOB the horn beeps. And when set the red light will blink in your dash panel. I have that basic alarm on my cheap HHR and thought all cars today had tha basic OEM one. Did I confuse you yet lol

I wonder if an easy way to check would be to roll down the window, close and lock the truck with fob. Reach in, unlock and open the door. Should that set off the factory alarm (if it has one) or does it require something else?

Mine was the same situation SLT from enterprise. Mine does have theft alarm. Roll down the window lock the truck by the key fob manually pull the lock inside the truck and unlock the door open the door on the outside and see if the alarm goes off.

Mine goes off cause my back door lock sometime doesn’t fully lock for some reason and it happens when I open the door without unlocking

FYI, if it's not active on yours you can use AlfaOBD to turn on the vehicle theft alarm (VTA) setting and also enable hood ajar switch monitoring if you have the Mopar remote start/wiring in place. Was able to do this on my 2013 SLT. Check AlfaOBD thread for details.

Did that and followed all instructions several time. No blinking light on when alarm set ! Sometime it is the little things that bug you lol.. Thanks for replying

I have tried it by leaving window open, reaching in and unlocking by the handle. I will try it by pulling up the door lock pin,, Thanks for replying

No OBD yet and no remote start maybe I will have to find a used phone that take the OBD or hopefully they make one for the I Phone :O
