What’s the best way to get some more horse power out of these motors ? Any affordable options?

my 35s are getting installed right now Nd I’m sure I’ll feel the power loss. Looking for somthing to help balance.

Do you know what size differential gears you have? If they’re 3.21 you could go up to 3.92 or 4.11 gears. A good tune will help some but without other bolt ons like exhaust work, it won’t do a lot. You will definitely notice a power loss and gas mileage drop as well due to the tires. I have 35x12.5r17 now and I’m barely getting 13-14 mpg even on the highway and I’ve been dyno tuned and have long tube headers, catless y pipe, Magnaflow muffler, Vararam intake, 180 thermostat, mechanical fan delete, my electric fan is set to turn on at 190, and a 4” Rough Country lift kit. A supercharger is in my future just to gain some more horsepower.

Did they adjust your speedo? That's horrible with 35's I get 18-23 highway. 35's only affected me about 1-2 mpg

My speedometer is calibrated. I also have MDS tuned off as it drive my nuts having to wait for it to turn off and the trans to shift and then I could almost get out of my own way about 3 hours after I hit the gas pedal through the floor. Lol

Which transmission do have,if it's the 6 speed ,you might want to look into going to 4.56's ,if it's the 8 speed you should be good with the 3.92's. Long tube headers and a tune are good choices as stated above, but whether they fit your description of affordable maybe not, lol. If moneys tight JBA 1 3/4 long tubes are a good option,if you have a little more money to spend, then Stainless Works / ARH's or AFE's are all good, just a lot more money then the JBA's are. The Stainless Works headers seem to be gaining favour these days as they are an equal length header.Doug Thorley also has their mild steel headers that might be another option to look at,but i'm not a big fan of mild steel headers, they are more prone to rust then a stainless steel header is.

This would be a significant gain and if the OP has a 2wd, shouldn't be expensive. If it's a 4wd, the price will double and will have to customize front axle.

IMHO---after you have added all that additional hp to your truck, if you have a 6 speed trans you might start saving for a trans rebuild or a new trans--it's not a question of if, it's a question of when

Guy on YouTube called cammed ram or incredible ram has a 5.7 running in the mid 12's quarter mile and it is his daily driver . He states that the cam made a huge difference along with the JG tune. He has humbled many "muscle car" owners.

12's aren't that hard to get with an 8 speed regular cab shortbox. Search Garys Hemi on here.Gary had his little R/T running mid 12's on 22" tall street tires a year or 2 back, with basically a stock truck, right track and DA did help a bit though, lol.Kyle Tingle put his old N/A bolt-on combo with a mid 3,000 stall convertor into the high 11's awhile ago.
