UAS is what you need. Can you post a picture of your "Application Version"?

I would gladly give you that info but I can't find it. Putting the radio in dealer mode seems to give me other random info but not the current software version.

@loveracing1988 That does look odd. I have UAV software, can you pull the radio and take a picture of the part number on the back?

After a lot of help from Mpgrimm2 and SitKneelBend, I was actually able to upgrade my radio to the 18.14 firmware (not 18.45). Same radio as dhabicht1 from above posts. So it can be done. The problem I encountered was due to a dead AR7552 aircard. An AR7558 aircard will work with the radio but will not allow it to update, the 18.14 firmware will show as non-compatible as long as the AR7558 is installed. Finding a working AR7552 actually allowed the update to install properly.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get it to update any farther. Once the 18.14 firmware is installed, the 21.9 and 22.6 firmware will flag as compatible and offer to install, but the install won't complete (starts at 90% complete, goes to 95%, then reboots). Haven't found a way to get it to work yet, but it took months to get as far as I've gotten so not giving up yet.

I'd like to start using 39.6.
I went to "6. 2018-21c UAq Radio Update files" and grabbed 28.3, 39.6, and 40.1. I tried both the 28.3 and 40.1 and when I started the truck, entered into dealer mode (two finger presses on the bottom corners), then inserted the USB, I get the following error: "Cannot update Software. Software not compatible with vehicle."

I'm kind of at a loss here what the issue is or why it's not taking.

I think the problem may be that you need the 5th gen UAV files.

I have them. Send me a PM. I believe the UAV and UAX are still considered UConnect 4C which is the operating system and not necessarily the hardware.

Confirmed, mines a "UAV" coded uConnect 8.4 4c NAV unit.

UAV update files worked tonight and they completed perfectly using the UAV version firmware!

Did two firmware updates from:
USA-IR-SBX-22.66.0-20220808-I0H1
to
USA-SBX-8.4-MR-38.3.0-20190314-M0G3
to
USA-SBX-8.4-QR-40.1.0-20220821-Q0J0

The only issue I have with the radio is every 4 days on the dot I get a blank screen , everything works AC/car play all of it but the screen is black I can even touch the screen and it functions but it's black for about an hour after I shut it off , then it functions for another 4 days and does the same thing . Does anyone think this could be helped with 40.1 update or is it the screen itself ?

Sounds like an update glitch. I think I went to the same version you're on and then loaded the 40.1 immediately after the update so can't say if the glitch is related to that specific update. Weird things can happen during updates.

I have heard of the screen going dark but not how you describe it. It's possible a firmware update will fix it but you will need at least two updates to safely get to the latest 40.1 for the UAQ. If interested send me a PM with your gmail and current "application version" from the dealer mode screen.

Curious if someone can help out, ive looked back into the thread and just want to get the most up to date info. I have a 2017 ram 2500 that came with the older 8.4" uconnect. So I bought a used 2019 8.4" UAQ. I keep getting a communications error when trying to use AA with my s25. I did add the newer harness and hub. Looked up the software and I have the 22.64. Wanting to see if i can obtain the newest software update as well as the newest maps updates. Any help would be appreciated. Attached are the current software and error message

I've had this issue, it's caused by a failed handshake between the phone and radio (possibly time is off). PM me and we'll get you updated. No maps update though, that's a paid item via UConnect and at the price they charge and age of the updates it's not worth it if you have Android Auto and CarPlay.

V18.45.x is the latest version for 2013-17 Harmon 8.4 RAx radios

Has anyone come across firmware older than 17 for Panasonic 8.4 vp4r? The client has firmware USA-MY17.5_GR18.7.0-20170706-G071, he tried to update it, now the radio does not work, update error) Need the same firmware or older to do a restore

Earliest download I've seen for a USA UAq radio was v18.14.x
see the original fw thread for it. Not sure if would be compatible even if it worked for a radio in another country.
