Speaking strictly about my own truck and lifestyle the compromises come into play like half the miles on my ram are from long trips and highway MPG matters when you've got 2 or more cross continent trips per year. And the price of tires, and whether a full size spare fits under the bed, and how well the truck handles going fast on familiar routes, how well it brakes when wildlife pops out to say howdy, I can park inside my garage to keep the sun off, keep birds from using it as a toilet and help keep all my neighbors honest.. all that stuff goes higher on my list than looking bad ass.
Not knocking style and I don't mean that with any sarcasm, your truck looks better than mine does and it's no different from a nice haircut or good fitting clothes you gotta feel your best to do your best so if the drawbacks I've talked about don't come into play for you then you made the right call.
On the other side of the equation what I'm giving up by not going bigger.. well the truck goes where I need it to and I can't say I've ever thought damn if I only had another inch or two..
All that stuff may not apply to everyone the same way but it's why I'm glad in retrospect that this kit didn't exist when I lifted my Ram - else I'd have it and my paint would be more beat up from parking outside all this time
